If the accepted(?) definition of a "one-hit wonder" is an artist that charts a Top 40single only once, what artists do y'all feel shouldn't have been included? What were their Top 40 singles? tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm For a nerd like me, that's a big "if" -- some artists might have been long popular on other charts, and depending on where you look or who you ask, one-hit-wonder refers to an artist that hits the Hot 100 only once. Nonetheless, fitting the top 40 rule, at least these artists can't be considered OHW (this isn't necessarily a validation or negation of talent they may possess ): Stacey Q - Two of Hearts and We Connect (precious gems, both of them) EMF - Unbelievable and Lies Katrina & the Waves - Walking on Sunshine and some tune from '89 (can't recall name offhand) Jesus Jones - Right Here, Right Now and Real, Real, Real [This message was edited Mon Aug 2 10:03:06 2004 by RipHer2Shreds]

I used the Top 40 OHW definition because it made it easier to pick the artists. And believe me, in no way do I equate Top 40 success with talent. We're probably talking about the mega-hit, tunes you couldn't get away from, the ones you heard whether you wanted to or not versus a subsequent release that wasn't nearly as successful on Top 40 playlists. The Katrina and the Waves tune you were thinking of might have been Do You Want Crying. Btw, I didn't list any of the groups you mentioned. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. although I don't like all; their work, Spandau Ballet is defenitely no one hit wonder.
TRUE Gold Only when you leave Through the Barricades How many lies? Highly strung they had too many hits to be called one hit wonder... maybe it is a sad story that everybody has forgotten about them, but that could be another thread! Ooh look! The best of Color Me Badd...
That would be "I Wanna Sex You Up" then. The best thing about that song is that you can easily substitute: "I'm ho-mo-sexual" over the chorus.

Remember "J adore mi amor" or something like that.....plus retro sounding "All 4 love".....even "Forever love" from Mo' money soundtrack did quite big on radio at the time! I guess y there r different opinions on these artists is 'cause some songs that were big in some countries that wern't big in othere etc..... CMB seemed huge at one point! No vanilla ice yet? He did have a ballad that hit big though didn't he? Damn crap it was too.....

I agree that only having one hit doesn't mean untalented, though. Check this song out at:
