Anyone else into The Hives?

This is the first album in a while that I bought the morning of the first day it came out. That's such a fun feeling.

I'm obsessed with guitar-driven guitar/pop lately...nothing long and opus-like, just short, catchy, jangly songs that make you wanna shake yo ass.

Franz Ferdinand and The Hives are the bands of the summer, if you ask me, which nobody did.

Be prepared for people who do not like it and start moaning about how conceived they are how much the singer wants to resemble Jagger and that their music is SO 2003.

If those people start to moan; screw them; The Hives are awesome. Fun. And they rock.

Up til now I love Walk Idiot Walk best. And you?

I've said it before, and I'll say it aain: If The Hives were a funk band, they would be the coolest funk band out there today.

I did a quick look-see for another post on them but I didn't see yours. I added a little kick to the end there.

I think right now my favorite is "A Little More for Little You." Or Diabolic Scheme (I give a little but I take it back, take it TAKE it, OOOOOH!!!)

And I also like the fact that they don't take themselves too seriously in interviews, which is refreshing for me as a Prince fan.

As for the comparisons to the Stones - it's just like how people call any male who croons a love song and/or plays an instrument and/or sings falsetto The New Prince. The music does NOT sound like the Stones, and his voice does NOT sound like the Stones. Not even slightly.

As for his on-stage antics, Mick Jagger's like the archetypal arrogant leader of a rock band. Everyone gets compared to him, because he was the first one to take over the stage like that. Read an interview with Pelle Almquvist and tell me he's imitating Jagger.
