I dont like usher the person or his music. So I dont buy it. But some of the post on here just sound like a hatred support forum. If its a hate "anybody" thread...except for Prince of course?.. Everyone responds to it.

I love Prince's music but is Usher more of an ass than Prince was in his hayday?

1.)Body guards at a awards show full of industry professionals?
2.)Liking a lolly pop and rufusing to sing a song to help feed starving childen, cause he wasnt in control?
3.)The constant "I know you want me" oversexed facial ecspressions.
4.)The double untontra "Love God!"
5.)A guy who doesnt give props to anyone unless they kiss his ass..IE Alicea & Beyonce

Fact is alot of people dont like Usher casue they dont like HIM. Maybe he should put on some high heels, eye liner and chaps so his ass can hang out!.... Would you like him then?

I swear he's doing everything but calling himself a living legend. It would be different if he had actually done something to change the face of music. But the formulaic R&B he makes isn't really worthy of all the attention he's gotten.

Like I said you can hate who you want. My point is that, are we judging him personally or his music? I just think that all artist are flawed and its all subjective. Thats one of the reasons he is where he is. Hi confidence. Alot of the artist you think are so humble and sweet are the biggest asses, bitches and heartless people you will ever meet. If you like the artist alot you are more forgiving. Your emtional connection covers all those flaws.

Just being the devils advocate. Im not going to argue about it.

I'm just so sick of turning on the radio and hearing yet another Usher song every few minutes,or seeing his boring videos all over BET and MTV.I don't hate him,but he is seriously in danger of becoming over-exposed.And wassup with all these ridiculous interviews,where he keeps talking shit about other artists? His ego is out-of-control.It's a shame that real artists like Remy Shand or Maxwell don't get nearly as much airplay or attention as Usher does.

In Comparison to the 90's and 80's he really hasn't sold that many records either.

COnfession is reaching what 5 million? It's just that the industry is hurting so much that anything selling over 2 million is a landmark now.

As for his music. ,,, Well it's basic r&b,,, crafted perfectly to SELL. And Sell quickly. Non of the songs will be remember two years from now because it's far from treading any new ground.

As for him being arrogant, i don't think he's any more arrogant than any of the other r&b singers. And definitely not anywhere near as arrogant as Prince was at his age.

Well I agree with you about the breaking barriers thing.

He's just ANOTHER r&b singer that's sold 5 million. But you have to remember the industry fuels these thing way more now. They need an album to sell 5 million plus like anything now, so they are going to do whatever they can to do it. As well as print every single thing he says.

I don't think he's arrogant, I think he's the perfect marketing Label's Puppet.

Even before he sold a lot of records he would do his little scripted poses and twirling of the hats in front of cameras, he's always being caught between saying his name the regular way USH-ER as opposed to what I guess the labels says is cooler,,, USHAh. He's doing the superstar thing to it's max. Record labels have coaches for sh*t like that and I think Usher is following every rule to sell records.


I'm the biggest Prince fan, but Prince did the same things. Not as much, but only because he didn't buy into the WHOLE superstar thing as much as Artist are doing now. You're right he didn't do interviews but when he did he said some cocky things. Like when an interviewer compared him to Jim hendricks. And prince pretending he didn't even know who Jimi Was,, Saying" Isn't he Dead"????lol.
