Doesn't write her own songs or play any instruments. Nor can she sing particularly well. ...gotta love that ass, though.

The only one I have been able to download is Too Far. Ocean Blue and Good Like That are non-existent on Kazaa AND Shareaza.... but am still trying. Harmony was only available as a B-Side on the second CD of a two-CD single set for the Australian release of "In Your Eyes". I am telling you - Kylie has got more shit out there than Prince. Anyway Goozer, why aren't you using Soulseek? Kazaa has way too many intervention files and Shareaza is crap for anything current. Org-Note me and I will give you "directions" to Ocean Blue, Good Like That and Harmony. I tried to get soulseek, courtesy a gooood friend, but the download then failed. If I am to try again I prob need links in my org notes, I am sure

If you're not a Kylie fan and would never dream of listening to her, I'd recommend: "Too Far" - Musically jarring and the production is odd. Its almost Bjork-ish, it really is that strange; "Harmony" - Gorgeous sunny Rn'B; "Almost A Lover" - Techno pop-funk. Very Prince-esque vocal harmonies; "Ocean Blue" - Her voice is gorgeous. Just Kylie, an acoustic guitar and lots of effects and overdubs; "Good Like That" - Perfect disco-pop. I love Kylie!!! Kylie is fantastic, Too Far is a brilliant song, as is Dreams, from the same album Impossible Princess. Look out 4 her remix Cd's, they rock hard.... I've really grown to love Kylie since "Fever". What I'm surprised by is how "Body Language", which is a superior album to "Fever", tanked. "Body Language" is definitely Prince inspired. "Slow" should've been a hit though I suspect her camp knew it would be a hard sell in America, which is why I bet they won't even concentrate on America from now on. She said it herself that this was her make-or-break album in America, so it seems like it'll be imports from now on.

No, how could I be? How can anyone be? It's a specious question. However there are three things that throw that into doubt: 1. The labels never tried to sell her as an auteur, like they did Madonna. 2. She writes for other artists. 3. I'm pretty sure Michael Hutchence taught her a lot about the craft (they dated for 3 or 4 years in the early 90s, and he was the impetus for her break from SAW, the creative control she gained in the early 90s, and those early forays into writing.) You will, however, believe what you want to believe. [This message was edited Mon Aug 2 21:48:28 2004 by VoicesCarry]

Tightrope - EXCELLENT B-side track, should've been on Fever without a doubt.
She also should've released the title cut of that album too, such a shame she didn't. I've seen Kylie many, many times over the years - she was at her peek on the fever tour, which was STUNNING. Even seen her at a number of Prince parties back in the day etc. Always approachable, very down 2 earth. The thing with Kylie that is often overlooked by her naysayers is that she is very shrewd, and she KNOWS what's best 4 her, and her career. She's not perfect - she's made mistakes - but the big difference between her and others is that she never makes those same mistakes twice. Body Language has been a bit of a failure really - even the English Gay press (which originally loved it) now seem 2 slate it. But what we all know is that she's bounced back a number of times before, and she will do again. That's just a few of the reasons I love her 2 bits anyway...

I'm disappointed with the very minor press "backlash" she's had after the album didn't do that well. I adore the album myself, and I hate it when commercial success affects people's opinions of a music product. It's like they're afraid to say what they really think. Personally I think Fever is FAR from being her greatest album. I'd rank it 5th at best.Body Language has been a bit of a failure really - even the English Gay press (which originally loved it) now seem 2 slate it. No, she CO-wrote it with Osbourne Bingham, Kara Dio Guardi and Ira Shickman. Kylie's taking more time off currently 2 spend with her boyfy - but it's been confirmed she will be recording with the Scissor Sisters later this year...

In general people are afraid of change. The same goes with their musical tastes. Damned if u do and damned if u don't. "It's pop music...blah, blah,blah.." But then when an artists tries something different it's "What are they trying to do?" At least she didn't make the same album twice in a row. i.e. "FEVER 2". Yet nasty people like Eminem, Usher, etc..are praised for making the same shite album over and over.
