Benny Mardones/Into The Night Who in here is hip 2 this song? And more than that, who in here LOVES this song? Well, I for one LOVE this song. Always have. This is one of my all time favorite songs by anyone. I think it's one of the most honest sounding vocal performances I've ever heard. It just doesn't sound like Benny is laying down vocals in the studio. It sounds like Benny is really howling in pain because of the love this dude feels for this underage girl. The last section of the song sometimes can bring tears to my eyes. Released in 1980, it was a moderate hit. I think it gets played now and is more popular now than it was in 80. Definately a one hit wonder.Too bad too because the album is pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised if I was the only cat here who dug this song. It's just that I can relate to the emotion I hear in Benny's voice and that he "let it go" like he did on that song is something that as an artist, I respect. Hip to it, heard it, dug it.
The vocal pathos is definitely there. A bit creepy because he sounds at least twice/thrice(?) her age. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm [This message was edited Fri Jul 30 14:05:11 2004 by theAudience] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. What were the lyrics again? "She's just 16 years old. Leave her alone, they said"? Quite a cool song! Ya not alone! | |
