D I S A P P E A R : Inxs

Isn't this a great song? The first time I heard it it blew my mind...Michael's sweet, powerful vocal....I read once where someone said of him, "He had the amazing ability to make any song sound exciting and dreamy, shifting gears between tenderness & all-out ballsy rock vocals."

A definite classic by a classic band. Nevermind the present-day decision to make a reality show, etc....memories never die. And the memory I have of this Australian band from the northern beaches of Sydney is forever captured in nothing but beauty & excitement.

Michael was a special performer and his charisma was wonderful.

Just thought it appropriate to dedicate a thread to a great song, a great band, and a great performer, songwriter.

That's all there is to it!

PeaceLoveRespect&Thanks yes kiss2 dove

(what are some of your favourite/special thoughts about Inxs, Michael, etc.)?

They were my band back in the day. Loved 'em. "Bitter Tears" was my fave from that album.

IM-PEC-A-BLE taste as always.

They first got on my radar with Original Sin, which is still one of the songs that can invoke the 80's [my YOUTH!] in a heartbeat.

I remember making out on that song, actually. And on Swing. And on Kick. And on X. Sigh. Teenage love...

I lost some of my vinyl during my too many moves, but I still have some of the Kick period. '87, wasn't it? Goood year! W&L's first, Kick. Sigh.

A M E N !!!

I adore INXS, I have moreorless everything they have ever done!! Disappear is a brilliant song!! I have the extended remix of it on my computer and it kicks ass!!

They fused so many styles into their music, rock, blues, jazz, funk, they were total geniuses!! Michael was a true poet and a prolific songwriter!! He will b forever missed!!

I have just brought the DVD Compilation set, I'm Only Looking, and its totally brilliant, seeing all the videos, plus rare concert footage and other rare unreleased and unseen videos!! I really wish Prince would do something like this!! Even though Michael is no longer with us, they are still doing things for their fans and in Michaels memory!!

U should also listen 2 The Strangest Party!! Excellent track!!

Hey hey me TOO!

AND!!

BONUS!!

I MET Michael when they did a very small bar tour to support Full Moon Dirty Hearts. long story I wont get into it here but I met him. And the whole band. I worked for the club. Anyhow.

Bitter Tears remix - five stars.

I was just today wondering which album is the definitive INXS album - personally, I love listening to the band develop from Shabooh through to X. Those 5 albums, (5? is that right? Shabooh, The Swing, Listen, Kick and X. Yeah. Colours was before Shabooh wasn't it? and it's an indie/import so it doesnt count)

Those 5 records are great, each on their own, but it's interesting to listen to how the band developed from trendy new wave of Shabooh to the arena rock of X... if you play X and Shabooh back to back, they're hardly the same band.

I don't know where I'm going with this. g'nite!
