any fans of Sakamoto?

anybody into Ryuichi Sakamoto?
He's kind of difficult to categorize, because, like another artist we know, you do not know what the hell he's gonna do next. his music spans Classical, Pop, Jazz, Brazilian, Avant Garde, Rock/Funk, Hip-Hop,Techno, etc,-often on the same album!

originally part of Yellow Magic Orchestra, his solo career includes soundtracks to films like "Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence"(in which he also co-starred with David Bowie), Black Rain, Pedro Almodovar's High Heels, and his Oscar for his score for "The Last Emperor"

he's collaborated with David Sylvian, Brian Wilson, Bootsy Collins, Thomas Dolby, Laurie Anderson, Jill Jones, Ingrid Chavez, Iggy Pop, David Byrne, Kelli Sae, Bernard Fowler, Lynn Mabry, Ronnie Drayton, Arto Lindsay, Tony Williams, Roddy Frame, Victor Bailey, Youssou N'Dour, Everton Nelson, Chris Minh Doky, Kazumi Watanabe, etc...Michael Jackson took Sakamoto's song, "Behind the Mask" wrote new lyrics, and gave it to keyboardist Greg Phillinganes for Greg's second solo album; since then, Sakamoto performs it with MJ's lyrics...

his influences include the Beatles, Debussy, John Cage, Herbie Hancock, and Phillip Glass, so stylistically he's all over the Map!

I only know him from that Jill Jones collabo "I Do You" or something like that. I thought Jill had gone off to that protege heaven in the sky before that was released.

Really like this man's music especially for YMO, but one of my favorites is the 'Sweet Revenge' cd for 'Regret' and '7 seconds', actually the whole cd is good. I saw him a couple of times in London which is quite an event because he only plays one show, I noticed you have a cd of that tour, what's it like?
