Yes, it was great. I saw the perfomrance too. He's still got it! NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I never really had time for the guy and his music. Then someone bought me the album for my Birthday.
Its the best album of the year. It lives in my car. .

I think "You are the Quarry" is one of the best solo-records he has released.I listen to it all the time. Favorite tracks: I have forgiven Jesus, Come back to Camden, Crashing Bores, Let me kiss you.

Doesn't stand up to "Your Arsenal", "Vauxhall & I" or "Southpaw Grammar" - those boot "Quarry" out of the stadium. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Not for me.Here is how I would rate his solo-records.Three albums share the No. 1 Spot because I can´t decide which one I like best. 1. Bona Drag You are the Quarry Viva Hate 2. Vauxhall and I 3. Your Arsenal 4. Beethoven was Deaf 5. Southpaw Grammar 6. Kill Uncle The only really great track on Southpaw Grammar is "Dagenham Dave" IMHO.

"Southpaw Grammar" isn't to everyone's taste, admittedly, but how "Teachers Are Afraid Of The Pupils" fails to stir you I don't know. And "Bona Drag" is a singles compilation, not a "real" album. I like his underrated (imo) 97 album better than Kill Uncle ( even if Driving You Girlfriend Home is fabulous) and the 95 one ( the one with Teachers Are Afraid Of The Pupils), especially Amunitions or Wide To Recieve
Isn't Girl Least Likely Too a moving song?

Isn't Girl Least Likely Too a moving song? In which case you know things about Morrissey that most people don't ... Some of "Kill Uncle" is great ("Our Frank", "Mute Witness"). The songs are actually a lot better live. Seek out some 1991 bootlegs. I recommend "Higher Education", "The Uncle Is Dead" and "Home Is Where The Heart Is". I thought "Girl LLT" was quite funny - even if he did write it about himself. [This message was edited Fri Jul 23 13:40:20 2004 by Shapeshifter] There are three sides to every story. I have a feeling that it's more sentimental connections to that album and where I was in life (11th grade) but I really enjoy Kill Uncle.

Yup, love Morrissey and the new album is great.
I wish he'd tour and head on over to Mpls. Last time I saw him live was in '91. It was GREAT

If I was to buy a second CD of his, based on what I like with the new album, what would you suggest? .

In order: "Your Arsenal", "Vauxhall & I", "Southpaw Grammar", "Viva Hate", "Bona Drag", "Maladjusted", "My Early Burglary Years", "Kill Uncle", "Beethoven Was Deaf", "Suedehead". Then you'll need the following bootlegs: "Home Is Where The Heart Is", "The Uncle Is Dead", "I'm A Poet", "Happy Xmas", "World Of Boxers", "Practising Troublemaker", "Gothenburg 1997". If you've got any money left we'll get onto The Smiths. [This message was edited Sat Jul 24 8:13:50 2004 by Shapeshifter] There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. Most definately after getting 'quarry' you should go for Vauxhall and I I only got into Morrissey after buying quarry - and got addicted fast - bought all the back catalogue, singles boxes, DVD's & even got me a really expensive ticket to his Meltdown show - AMAZING show btw!! - am totally addicted now!! The worst? I guess thats why it was the first single from Southpaw. "The Teachers..." could be a great song too if it wasn´t so awfully long and repetetive. I forgot to include "Maladjusted" in my list. That would fit between "Your Arsenal" and "Beethoven was Deaf". I like the first 4 songs on that album but the rest is

I like the first 4 songs on that album but the rest is "Dave" was the only song on the album that was a). relatively radio friendly and b). was at or around the 3.00 minute mark. "Maladjusted" starts really well but goes off the boil really quickly. Why he left "Lost" off the album in favour of crap like "Roy's Keen" and "Satan Rejected My Soul" is mind boggling. Actually, I was in a local store on Saturday and I picked up "Bona Drag" for £1, simply because it was there and that it contained a few of the early singles I liked (Interesting Drug, November Spawns and International playboy). And its great. It could do with remastering, but for a pound I can't complain. I shall get Your Arsenal next! .

If Your Arsenal was produced by Steve Liliwhite I think it should have really been a masterpiece, anyways I love Tomorrow and Seasick

I was a complete total Smithshead in college, I got so glutted up with them, I couldn't follow it all when they broke up so I've never even heard a Morrissey tune.

Well, that was in 1987, so get over it and get yourself Ryko's "The Best of Morrissey". There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently
