Are YOU Jimmy Ray? Who remembers this God-awful song from the late 90s? I'm aware it was meant to be a novelty-type song, but does something really have to suck this bad? I must admit, I did have the CD single, though, but, hey, I was, like 12. But that doesn't make it right.

Wow! Such amazing lyrics! lol ... I still love that song! I have the cd, it came out when I was like 8 or 9 years old... and there's no song worth listening to

Yeah, I remember this tune, and I actually kinda dug it myself. It wasn't really that bad. It was just something that was radio-friendly. I think I was in 10th grade when that came out. I remember one day I went to the records shop and I heard the album. I liked the hit single, but the rest of the album didn't sound like that. I loved Imani Coppola. That album of hers was great. And then she just disappeared.

I have this album!! I bought it last year for 49 cents at SecondSpin.com
I think this barely made the Top 20 in the UK, but we ALL remember him because of the massive amount of promotion he got and the desperate attempt to push the 50s throwback image into the next big thing. We all used to take the piss out of it... but I still kinda like the song. | |

I don't remember hearing the Jimmy Ray song at all, but Imani Coppola's Chupacabra album was great! There were a lot of songs on there that I still play every so often: "Naked City", "It's All About Me, Me And Me", "I'm A Tree"...I really enjoyed that project! | |
