That song is SO funky.

As

My Cherie Amour

Isn't She Lovely

Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours

Ribbon in the Sky

One Little Christmas Tree - (this is from the Motowm Christmas Album)

For Once in my Life

I was Made to Love Her

You are the Sunshine of my Life

...Geez...I can't pick just one. Listening to him takes me back to my childhood, when my parents would play records (yes, records) all day. I don't think I truly appreciated his lyrics until I became an adult. Amazing...

I'm feeling' this song right now, thought I'd share...

Ribbon In The Sky

Oh so long for this night I prayed
That a star would guide you my way
To share with me this special day
Where a ribbon's in the sky for our love

If allowed may I touch your hand
And if pleased may I once again
So that you too will understand
There's a ribbon in the sky for our love

This is not a coincidence
And far more than a lucky chance
But what is that was always meant
Is our ribbon in the sky for our love, love

We can't lose with God on our side
We'll find strength in each tear we cry
From now on it will be you and I
And our ribbon in the sky
Ribbon in the sky
A ribbon in the sky for our love

There's a ribbon in the sky for our love...

(c) 1982

Livin For The Citay-because it has the best oopening, it has a heartfelt delivery, badass lyrics all set to a jammin groove. Her clothes are old, but neva hardly dirty...cuzz where he lives, they dont use colored people...Its his Stairway To Heaven imho...not everyone can get with this one becaue they dont have the experience of certian things, and that makes it special as well. Only people who "hear" Stevie can appreciate this one.

"Superstition" - I know it's obvious and cliche, but the song is just so damned THICK...

Also: "Rocket Love" from Hotter Than July and "Overjoyed"...the remind me of a girl I was madly in love with...

sad

Here's a little more Stevie Wonder trivia for ya...

***In the early 80s,John Travolta was planning to make a "comeback" as a singer. He had a few late-70s hits with the song "Let Her In"(1976) and of course the songs from 'Grease'(1978).He called up his pal Stevie Wonder to produce an album for him.The project was never released.

***In late 1984,when the "We Are The World" project was being planned, the original plan was for Stevie Wonder to write the lyrics for the song.He was busy recording his own album ('In Square Circle') so Quincy Jones asked Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie (who were both between albums) to write the song instead.

***Stevie Wonder appears on the opening track from Quincy Jones' 1995 CD "Q's Jook Joint".It's a kiiler song called "Let The Good Times Roll"(a remake) and Stevie sings with Ray Charles and Bono of U2.It's the highlight of this CD!!!

it was so cool of Stevie having John Travolta in His "Skeleton" Video.I wish Motown would Release that Vault Album of Stevie&MJ from 73-74.Quincy Jones said in His Book He wished He could have worked with Stevie&Marvin during the 70's but the Motown Powers that Be didn't see anything Succesful coming out of it???

so many it would be Impossible to anrrow it down&He is one of the Few Artists Ever that I Can say that about.but always in the Summer it's "As" because that song hits like Sunshine&speaks of Life,Liberty&Love in a Powerful way.it's like a Outer Body Experience vibe.this is why I always Seperate a Artist from there Work because those Feelings on Record are out of this World to Live it would truly Be even more Amazing.the Power of Words&Music&Stevie Wonder in His Hey Day truly understood it as well as anybody that has Ever Composed&allowed there Feelings to truly Be Free.

God, this is just way too hard to answer since, as someone else mentioned, it does change constantly. RIGHT NOW, I'm all about "I Love Every Little Thing About You" from Music Of My Mind. True, the lyrics are on the little-too-sappy side but the music is just awesome and check out that vocal percussion...INCREDIBLE!!!

Also, I can never be without "Creepin'" NO CHANCE!!!

I mentioned it earlier this year on this discussion forum, but people WONDERING where MJ got his "HEE -HEE" yell from, just listen to Stevie Wonder's "Maybe Your Baby" from TALKING BOOK near the end of the song. Stevie's a big influence on Mike.

I just saw the movie "John Q." with Denzel Washington. There is a Stevie Wonder song playing during a very emotional time in the movie. The song is absolutely beautiful...does anyone know the name of the song?

I'm so sorry that I couldn't stick around 4 the credits...can anyone help me?

WOW! Where have I been? I didn't even notice this thread. You guys have picked some GREAT ones--I need to go get a lot of my Stevie stuff onto CD.

Anyway, I love almost everything that man has done, especially from the 70's and early 80's. My favorite all time album (sorry, I have to say--even over my favorite Prince album) is Songs in the Key of Life.
I think Innervisions is my second favorite Stevie work.

Absolutely amazing work.

"Happy birthday"... ever since "Hotter than july" was published my family has been playing this song on every birthday... instead of singing the usual" Happy birthday to you..." we are all singing and dancing on this song... including my granny, my uncles and aunts, my friends... it has become a real tradition for us and the more I think about it the more I realize I couldn't really do without it...
biggrin

I recently found out that the song I fell in love with on the "John Q." soundtrack is called, "Justice Of The Heart". I tried 2 download it from Kazaa but 2 no avail... I don't think anyone on there has it in their files.

Has anyone else heard this song? Whaddya think?

It's played during a real emotional part of the movie, and as soon as the vocal starts...u go, OMG, that's Stevie!

2 me, the best part of that film!

Village Ghetto Land from "Songs in The Key of Life"

I first heard this song when George Michael sang it live at the first Nelson Mandela tribute concert at Wembley Stadium. (GM is a big Stevie fan having covered As, Love's In Need Of Love Today, and They Won't Go When I Go.)

I didn't realise that my mum had this album, so she played me the original and it made me fall in love with the album. The track still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Just somewhere in the middle,

"Village Ghetto Land"...mmm, mmm, mmm.

The contrast of the classicly arranged strings 2 the disturbing reality that is the ghetto is nothing short of pure genius.

Another fine example of the power of the "Songs In The Key Of Life" album.

"Would u like to go with me, down my dead end street..."

(that was a Stevilicious mistake music)
