Any Cure fans in the house?

Just wondering if any of you are fans of the music of The Cure. Send me and orgNote and we can discuss it.

I think you'll find there are just a few Cure fans in the Org....I wouldn't call myself a fan of them the way I'm a fan of Prince, but I've been following The Cure since around the time of "Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me" and when they have a good album out, I'm all about 'em. I kinda lost interest around the time of "High" and "Wild Mood Swings", which led me to sleep on the totally wonderful "Bloodflowers", but they won me back with the "Trilogy" DVD and the latest album.

Needless to say, I'm VERY excited about seeing them perform in Chicago next month!!!

I love The Cure.

Ditto to what Anxiety said though. Although I've yet to get Bloodflowers.

Yes, Trilogy was very much a saving grace. To see the Pornography set played in concert was amazing and I love the interviews they did. I also picked up on them in 1987 with the Kiss Me(x3) Album. But since then have collected all of their released CDs. Join The Dots:The Rarities and B-Sides was a fantastic release, my favorite song from that being "To The Sky"

GangstaFam

Absolutely adore them. I think The Cure and Prince are the first artists that I was actually a "fan" of. Still as hardcore today as ever.

That's probably the best line-up of the band. Well....that one and the current one.

I plan to go see them this Saturday at their very own Curiosa festival. IT'S GONNA BE OFF THA HOOOOOK!!!!! dancing jig

By the way, Anx, I love "Throw Your Foot" too. It's got that bouncy New Wave beat you'd never expect from a Goth tune. wink

I remember hearing that song on the radio at some point while "Disintegration" was current.I really liked the song and (not knowing the name of it) wondered why it wasnt on the album.I then bought 'Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me",thinking it must be on it and was really confused that it wasnt. Finally, after a friend told me the name , I found it on one of those Razormaid comp CDs...It really should have been on one of their albums! lol

The way the Cello bounces and the violins play in the background are perfect for the flowery imagery and lyrics! My all time favorite song now.

I have never heard a more beautiful simple love song than "This Twilight Garden". It's like an aural painting musically and lyrically. You can actually hear falling stars in it.

I gots lotsa love for the cure

I am a 'newer' fan as well. My older sister had Head On The Door, so I heard that quite a bit but didn't buy anything until Disintegration.

I was obsessed with Disc 1 from Join the dots for months after it came out and have recently started to give quality time to the new CD.

Alls I know is the CHICAGO Curiosa show is gonna be outta control! woot!
