TheJoker

"A Different Corner" by George Michael.

There was this person I really cared for. As time went on, I'd try and show her more & more how deeply I cared for her...but I felt she was leading me on (only after the fact did it truly dawn on me).
There was something about her, however, she just wrecked me. I was younger and inexperienced...naïve, you could say.
I thought something would come out of it. My heart was on my sleeve, and, like the lyric goes, "[she] brought me to my knees". Everytime.

Maybe it was an obsession. I've been known to fall hard. Anyway, around that time I was rediscovering George Michael again. Towards the end of this drama, I wrote her a letter...and quoted some of the lyrics.

It was one of those memories from youth which never go away. Although it's easier to listen to that song now, I can still recall that time of my life so clearly.

One of the reasons I think music is one of the most incredible things we have....

I can't explain why this song has always affected me so much. But every time I listen to it I get very emotional and I don't know why. It's never had any signifigance towards another person. I've never let this song be my song with another, although many have known that it was very special to me.Even the instrumental version does it for me. This song has always been my favorite song since the first time I heard it back in 1985. Even until this very day. It's my favorite song in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD. Over all music! worship worship worship touched

"You", Janet Jackson. This song, actually the whole Velvet Rope album, helped me so much throughout times when I was really depressed. I think it helps to put things into perspective for me because sometimes I care too much about what other people think about me and I put everyone else ahead of myself constantly, and I usually end up feelin' used or let down by people I love because of it. This song has really helped me to put myself first, though, and not to sacrifice my own needs and wants for others, especially those that don't have my back the same way.

"Together Again", Janet Jackson. This song is another from The Velvet Rope, and it really started to mean alot to me right when my grandmother passed away from cancer. I can't describe how beautiful this song is to me, and I love it because it celebrates life and is about Heaven, not about death. I'll never forget, on the way home from her funeral, this song came on as soon as we got into the car. I know that was my grandmom saying that she was watching over me.

"By Your Side", Sade. This song means a lot to me because it reminds me of my relationship with my special someone.

'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance... well, they're no friends of mine.

One by U2. I'm not really a fan, but I want it played at my funeral. I've already given a few people orders on this. I specifically want Mica Paris' cover version playing and I want everybody gathered at the crematorium to listen to the words and try and imagine how they could have all treated me better.

There are a few songs which always make me cry... Purple Rain, Goodbye To Love, In My Life, Jesus To A Child - but none of them sum it all up like "One" does.

For right now I would have to say the song by Miss Keys~If I Don't Have You..The reason why it's so personal is because like the song says you can have everything and nothing at the same time but if you have the person you love the most in your life you have everything. The other stuff is just trivial . smile
