The Tipping Point The first listen didn't move me. Now,I think this is one of The Roots' stronger albums. Man,some of the flows Blackthought get into on this cd are really top notch. I'm still waiting on a second live cd. They mentioned they would do one every couple of years or so.I want another one.The first one is incredible!! "I'm a pig..so,magic elixir I swill"

I tried to told yall. Seriously, I think this IS their best album. It's not too left of centre, it's short and Black Thought is spitting fire on pretty much every song.

I got bored with it pretty quickly. I've been tempted to dub it The Slipping Point, but thats too easy, and not completely accurate. IMO its better than Phrenology, and it sounds great coming ouut of the speakers. Lyrically, though...same bragadocious blah blah. Damn I miss '95.

I'm really digging this album and Star/Pointro is one of the better album openers I've heard.

Dim do do, dim da da do do. It's a decent album, though not on the level of greatness that was illadelph & Things fall apart. They keep their musical skills in check even with the everchanging band lineup. Jeux Sans Frontiers

Every time I hear about this album, I think about the book The Tipping Point that I was forced to read for work. Quite different.

My problem w/ the Tipping Point is that the musicians never really shine. We all know that Hub is one hell of a bass player, but all the bass lines are ho-hum to me. Same with all the playing on the album. Its good, but the band never lets it rip! I try not to get into the habit of comparing albums (Sign is better than Lovesexy, etc.) but to me, the Tipping Point is nowhere near the creative spark that was Do You Want More??!! I guess I was hoping for a return to form.
