Off The Wall is still a GREAT album, but with his obsessions growing, I guess his music started shrinking. After Thriller there are just a few songs that stand the test of time. No matter how many records he sold.

I disagree, coz imo his best work came after thriller. ok, thriller's got billie jean and stuff but the songs on history and dangerous are the best ever he's written.

Bad was his POPpest album and the most 80s sounding one but well it's just the production that ages. I'm gonna quote mike here "a great melody never dies"

And dangerous, it's been 13 years since it was released and still souds fresh(except the drum mashine used for dangerous the song maybe)

and HIStory's got songs like stranger in moscow, little susie, childhood, they dont care about us, money etc which is solely written composed produced and arranged by MJ and they are all masterpices still sound perfect after almost 10 years.

blood on, was pretty cool too. I love everything he did except Invincible(sorry cloudy).I completely hate invincible except few songs.

well just opinions right?

Off the wall is outstanding. Thriller was a bit weak, for me. confused although billie jean remains one of the greatest pop tunes ever made. PYT, Human Nature and WBSS are also great. the rest - pfft.

I was addicted to Bad for a while. may sound dated, but the tunes are superb. Dangerous was great - some of HIStory was good (stranger in moscow particularly ranks up there with his best). Blood on the Dancefloor was largely wank. the title track is great, as is ghosts. Morphine's okay. the rest - pfft.

Invincible was surprisingly good. It's only the terrible, whimsical teary ballads that do my head in here - cry, the lost children, you are my life. same goes for earlier attempts like Childhood - cringe-inducing. But tracks 4 thru 9 especially are superb. Butterflies is magical. break of dawn, you rock my world, 2000 watts drool3 great tunes, & a fine album on the whole.

i just wish he'd lay off the stuff that makes me wanna hurl. The Lost Children is totally, totally unforgiveable.

Well I probably don´t have a favourite MJ album. Maybe Bad and Dangerous I like the most. But I do like some of the songs that not a lot of people are into. Like Smile, Little Susie, She drives me wild, I can´t help it, Don´t walk away. or Liberian girl Yeah, these are my favourites. As well as of course with the other bomb songs like Earth song, Stranger in Moscow, Heaven can wait, Dirty Diana, but these are not worth mentioning because most people love them.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

"Privacy" is another amazing song off of Invincible as well as "You Rock My World" and "Speechless" everything he sings is amazing.."Thriller" is the greatest album ever and it's hard picking a favorite song, but mine is "Wanna Be Starting Something" on "Thriller"..."Billie Jean" "Beat It" "Bad" "You Are Not Alone" "Rock With You" "Dirty Diana" "The Way You Make Me Feel" "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" "Smooth Criminal" "One More Chance" "Black or White" "Dangerous" "Blood On The Dance Floor" "THRILLER" "Scream" "P.Y.T" I love love love but I could just go on forever and list those not even mentioning the great Jackson 5 songs "ABC" etc. And "D.S." is a great song because he's making fun of stupid Tom Sneddon which I hate who has been out to get him over 10 years ago and still is grrr I hate Tom Sneddon!
"She knew which fork to use, but she couldn't dance, this is the story of ILLUSION COMA PIMP AND CIRCUMSTANCE!" I *heart* that song!

Purple Rain...Purple Rain!

They asked him once what he thinks about the song and he said he was deeply disturbed by the sound of shot gun at the end of the song. Recently they asked him again, he said he hasnt listened it lol

Hmm - not often that you find someone who wasn't impressed with Thriller but fair enough.

I love Thriller but the last thing he did that I really rated was Dangerous. I find the "whimsical teary ballads" override anything remotely good in his work now. Load of bosh.

Ah thank you ever so, LightOfArt. Been busy but back with my two cents on MJ as usual.

Felt a bit bad for him with the press over the supposed quads he was expecting. My hunch was that it was a hoax. But like the guy needs any more press with the trial looming.

I love Michael Jackson too.

I'm sorry but I am from the old school when people jammed hard and Michael Jackson can definately do that when he wants to. With all the midtempo hip hop and balladeers out now I can really appreciate someone that can jam hard like Michael Jackson but the fact that he hangs out with kids and openly says he is Peter Pan and will never grow up makes him weak.

I'm sorry but that's my opinion.
