That is really fukked up to say. Britney has a family too. Lets not wish death on anyone. And besides Britney was with Justin at the time. That would have really messed Justin up. He would probably be on the streets of Tennessee sipping wine.

Things happen for a reason. I see it as this...at least Aaliyah wasnt here to witness 9/11

Becuase I'm sure she and Justin had The Greatest Romance Of The Century, and weren't just doing it for tabloid fodder.

We didn't "wish" death on Britney, we simply said that given the choice of her or Aaliyah being on that plane, we would rather it had been Britney. At the very least we'd still have a talented singer with us.

probably not, actually. she was pretty much on her way to being over already. her last album was tanking until she died....

That's funny. I remember "Rock the Boat" being a hit before she died, so the album couldn't have been doing that bad. Also, considering how young she was, she had an impressive list of successes behind her, and I really don't think one "tank" would have ended her career.

It was her highest-charting album ever (#2), had gotten the best reviews of her career, and was still doing quite well on the charts. I don't think you remember correctly.

Just some stats:

The album was released in mid-July and had sold just below 500,000 units by the time of her death (so in 6 weeks, essentially) and gone gold. The week before her death it sold 62,000 copies, which is a great number for the sixth week. It moved 27-19 (up from 44,000 copies the previous week) on a bullet that week. That makes it her fastest-selling album by a mile. First single "We Need A Resolution", while an artistic triumph, was not radio-ready, so that probably hampered sales somewhat.

But, behind all this, sales don't really matter. She was a good singer, and I would have continued to support her.

Exactly. The album debuted well and got excellent notes. Not sure how that equates to "pretty much on her way to being over already."

Interesting how a thread commemorating somebody's death has turned into one to devalue her career and wishing death on another.

Thank you. I didn't know the exact statistics, but I know the album was doing well.

I heard it was a rip-off and melancholic. Only revolved around her death, not particularly a celebration of her art.

i always wondered why she and her crew didn't pay attention to what the pilots and plane crew were telling them. it makes me angry. she would still be here today.
