Even though I love the whole 70s disco era,I was never all that crazy about The Village People.Their songs all had the same beat/sound and it was impossible to take them seriously, since they were obviously intended to be a campy novelty act.Having said that,I admit I do have one album by them, their 1979 double-record live album called "Live And Sleazy".Surprisingly,it's a very powerful live album, and the songs are faster and more energetic than their regular studio versions. My favorite Village People song is the live version of "Hot Cop" that appears on this album. | |
