Is listening to The Cure really "curing"?

You know, I've been living on a steady diet of The Cure albums over the past few months (including the latest one) and everybody knows when it's time to pick them up. Yes, relationship problems! (You know it's the same old story: boy meets girl, boy calls girl, girl cancels by a text message, boy calls girl, girl doesn't call boy, boy calls girl, boy stops calling girl, girl calls boy THEN... blah blah)

Yeah, I know some of you here have been through the same. But does listening to this music actually help the situation at all? Like what I usually do is, I program the most depressing songs from "Wish" or "Disintegration" and listen to them on a...
CONSTANT LOOP. smile

For example - you try the following: "Letter To Elise" - "To Wish Impossible Things" - "Trust" - "Apart" - "From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea", and listen to it for four days non-stop! And man, I'm not sure whether it's helping me to go through those emotions or just agitating the crap mood.

Happy summer to everybody!

I find they tend to help me fixate on my feelings enough that I work through than rather than ignore them, so I believe they are "curing."

ps- "A Letter To Elise" is just a brilliant song.

I think it helps to dwell in the misery for a bit. You have to. Gets it outta your system.

Then after a few days you can throw on the happy stuff and dance about your room like a crazy person.

I am strangely rather happy listening to The Cure lately.

How weird. Especially 10:15 Saturdaynight and Man Inside My Mouth.

10.15
10.15
Saturday night
Saturday night
And the tap drips
And the tap drips
Under the strip light
Under the strip light
And I’m sitting
And I’m sitting
In the kitchen sink
In the kitchen sink
And the tap drips
And the tap drips
Drip drip drip drip drip drip drip drip
Drip drip drip drip drip drip drip drip

My latest Cure obsession was brought to you by TRON, who kept harrassing my broke ass that I should listen to the new album and oh, by the way, that b-sides collection is a must have. All four cd's of them.

Sooooo. When I finally got my computer (the reason for my broke ass) I started downloading like crazy. The latest album was easy.

But now that four cd box is haunting me. Listening to it constantly. I still miss four songs. I can't wait to burn them for my sister, who got all excited when I spoke to her about it.

Waves of joy.
Crashing into many shores.
Music for gloomy girls and boys.
Always wanting more, more, more.
I want more.

More joy.
Can you put it in a bag?
More tears.
Cuz then I know I am feeling, feeling...
Feeling you.
Inside my head.
I like you inside my head.

That's just what I keep telling everyone. I can listen to this song for hours on a constant loop. It's just so beautiful in its subtle and elegant... oh well, misery. smile
