Gene im also a bass player, and you and John Paul Jones are the players I really look up to, so i have a question along the lines of bass playing. My fret fingers are fast, my rythm has done a complete 180, but my bad mother plucking fingers are not getting any faster, do you have any tips to become faster or should i just switch to a pick. I would appreciate your input. I enjoy playing your songs and look forward to seeing you in Tampa on the 31st.

Suggestion: Forget "fast" as a consideration when playing bass. Think "memorable" as your mantra. Play something that compliments the music, instead of showing off how fast your fingers are. No one cares if you show off how fast you play. Remember, all the guitar shredders are history. They lasted for a popcorn fart.

We have an Animal Farm and they are named: Knucklehead, Mr. Jinx, Peeps, Jery (birds), Snippy and Lucky (dogs), and Idiot, Moron, Garfield (cats). By the way, Idiot and Moron are both from the Imbecile family (yes, that's right: Moron Imbecile and Idiot Imbecile).

I am 16yrs old and have never smoked (never wanted to) and never had alcohol (unlike all of my friends). Like you, I see no need for it and I look up to you with so much love and respect for being a SOBER ROCK AND ROLL KING!! It takes courage to be honest about that sort of thing, with your status, congratulations. At school i'm not in "the cool crowd" but I don't care, I see what they do, and they're morons. They always say their friends won't like them if they say no to alcohol etc. and I just say if they don't like you because of that, they're not your friends.... AND IT'S NOT HARD TO SAY NO!!! I respect myself enough to say it's not for me, and I know that if i did drink and/or smoke (not that I would), I wouldn't just be letting myself down, I know my mum would be disappointed with me and I wouldn't be able to handle that. Call me a mumma's girl if you want, I know many have, but how many of them can say they know they're doing the right thing for themselves?! I'm in the middle of reading "KISS and make-up" it's good. Thanks for being one of the two people i trully aspire to being like.
