Like the songs Le Freak (Chic) & Celebration (Kool & the Gang) & Kiss (ol' whatzisname),
the 1 Bee Gees song I don't dance to because it was played WAY TOO MUCH when it came out is Stayin' Alive.. & that image of Travolta carryin' that bucket of paint & trying to pimp down the street.. that's 1 of the images of the 70s that is well set in my mind..

but I digress.
they did do several good songs

you should be dancing - my favorite dance track, I LOVE that horn "bridge" in the middle of the song.
jive talkin' - I remember hearing (on "Behind The Music") that they got the idea of the chunky rhythm guitar riff from a car in which they were riding, somewhere in Florida..
night fever - a "mellower" but still good dance track
how deep is your love - BEAUTIFUL song, I've done it more than once at Karaoke
emotion ; I like how, in the video, you see their profiles & it's like they're walking around in a circle.. kinda of "cheesy" but still cool
emotion - I always wondered with whom they sang that song

I remember the middle brother Maurice went on not too long ago, & I think the surviving 2 brothers said they would not tour again - at least not as the Bee Gees. I kind of regret that I never saw them live.

then there's the youngest of these 3 - Robin -
he often looked so bored on stage, he usually had his hands in his pockets, like he was waiting for a bus or something..
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

Again pali, u took all the best ones! Even listing the cuts they wrote 4 other people. I thought I was going to have a crack at that list, but u included those too. Damn!

There's no shame in admitting to a liking of the Bee Gees. They get far too much credit for the popularity of disco (read: the heterosexualization of disco), but they were a great bunch of musicians and songwriters! Some of my favorites:

To Love Somebody
How Can You Mend a Broken Heart
Jive Talkin'
(silly song, but it puts a smile on my face)
You Should Be Dancin'
How Deep is Your Love
Night Fever
(my all-time fave of theirs!)
Too Much Heaven
Love You Inside Out

The Bee-Gees sang on "Emotions" with Samantha Sang. I believe it was her song. I really like that song. I believe that it was Destiny's Child that destroyed it.

Yeah, there were a couple that I didn't list, because they weren't credited to them, either through back-up vocals or production.

SO TRUE! I've never been ashamed to admit I love the Bee Gees. Disco was my FIRST LOVE. I think I got so heavy into the funk because I refused to accept the death of disco. I think the main reason for the disco backlash is because it started in the gay clubs.

Anyway, my favorite Bee Gees songs are:

You Should Be Dancing
Jive Talking
Tragedy
Staying Alive
Andy is a four letter word.

Admit it? We've got nothing to be guilty of.

The entire GUILTY CD with Barbara Streisand has wonderful Brothers Gibb compositons.
As does the EATEN ALIVE CD by Diana Ross.
Love Is Thicker Than Water - Andy Gibb
Shadow Dancing - Andy Gibb
When He's Gone
Smoke And Mirrors
Mr. Natural
Lonely Days
Nights On Broadway
To Love Somebody
Too Much Heaven
Love Me - Yvonne Eliman (I'll bet you a  that if a female vocalist were to remake this with a Timberland/Aaliyah style arrangemet it would be a hit.)
Dimensions
Man In The Middle

I like the same ones you guys do as well. If people want to enjoy some good songwriting I say give them a listen.

What's funny about this song is,you can barely hear Samantha, lol. The Bee Gees totally dominate this track.Listen to the chorus. This is really just a Bee Gees track, with Samantha making a cameo appearance on the verses. But what an amazing song, huh?
