Londonbeat - I've Been Thinking About You

This song just came up on my random playlist, so I thought I'd make a thread about it.

This was a great song. Love the lead singers vocals and the London club-house sound of the groove in the back. Very early '90s. I remember when MTV showed this video on a show they had called "House Party" back in '91. They played nothing but dance videos like CeCe Peniston, Technotronic, C+C Music Factory, Black Box -- you know all those DanceMix USA artists of ole.

Nostaglia is hitting me majorly!

That was freshman year at college for me, and I loved this song! Not much to the rest of the album, but it was a great single. Vaguely remember house party but I was an ADDICT for Club MTV in the late 80s.

Wubba, wubba, wubba! Good-bye and God bless (apparently, she was talking to her career! wink)

LOL.

Ah, the fabulous and talented Ms. Downtown Julie Brown. Wasn't she in that Neutrogena commercial (or am I getting her confused with that other Julie chick?)

Wubba, wubba, d'oh!

I never cared for "Thinking About You", it's too midtempo for me. But.....I love the era that you are speaking of. In my opinion, R&B music fell way off in the late 1980s except for very few artists. Ballads were taking over. From 1990 till around 1993, it picked back up again with the house music.

I loved all the other tracks you listed and many other house songs. Black Box was my favorite. House music went underground and got too techno for me. By 1993 hip hip took over. That's when I stopped listening to current music. I'm still waiting for R&B music to pick back up again. Hey, it picked up in 1990, who's to say it can't happen again.

I'd love to see house/club music back in the mainstream again. The early '90s weren't a great time for dance-oriented stuff. Rap artists around this time were afraid to dabble into hip-house. You had hip hop artists like De La Soul making house-inspired tracks like "Ring Ring Ring" (I'll never forget their classic hip-house parody "Kicked Out The House") and you had Heavy D with "Now That We Found Love" and "Is It Good To You." Salt N Pepa were killing it around this time with "Expression" and "Do You (Really) Want Me (Baby)." Kid N Play "Ain't Gon' Hurt Nobody," Toni Tone Tony "Feels Good." But then you had sh*te groups like Today (but they were more New Jack Swing)... I kinda wanna forget about that. neutral

The "hip-house" will rise again, edit.

Nope, not a remake. Just avoid the threat if it's hurtin' ya. It's prolly for the best. So, is it the pseudo-cowboy guitar part that's stuck in your head? Cuz that's what's gettin' me.

Ouch. Tough crowd. One man's treasure is another man's sh*te.

(For some reason I've been using the word "sh*te" all week.)

eek
