Is Ho Behavior killing music?

It seems to me music has not been the same since Women and Men artists decided the best way to sell music is to "try" to be sexy and shit.....Now sex and music have gone hand in hand for decades and is nothing new but there is a way to do it right and then there is the Adina Howard, Mariah Carrey, Janet Jackson and Usher way.....I have nothing against the artists (and I use the term loosely for a couple of them) in any way just using them as examples.....Teddy P and Luther were sexy to women because of their vocal skills and delivery and presence as well as many female singers from back in the day....but ho behavior has taken over.

Janet was sooo sexy once cause she wasn't trying to be.... it was just her and now she tries too hard and now its old....Mariah I thought was great too but now she's throwing the booty at you so much you have become numb to it....in fact that is what is going on. I watched some video's the other day for the first time in months and saw all kinds of booty shaking half naked women and I am so numb to it now its ridiculous.....Its everywhere so therefore its not really that spectacular or shocking. I just wish this need to look and act like ho's in music would end soon....I know its a trend but its a bad trend that has caused a lot of damage to popular music.....Just my 2 cents....

When sensuality morphs into sexuality. It doesn't work.

Madonna has always engaged in ho behavior. So has Lil Kim, so we don't care if they slut it up.

I agree about Janet. I loved the "Let's Wait Awhile" Janet, but I also loved the "Someday Is Tonight" Janet. There was always a classiness to Janet's sensuality that I admired and idolized. Now it's just tasteless. "Warmth" is trash. "Moist" is decent, but it can't compare to the Jam & Lewis slow jams of ole like "Twenty Foreplay" and "70's Love Groove." "Would You Mind" was too forced, in my opinion. How many times are we gonna see the tits bunched up? I love my girl (FOR LIFE), but we need some new fashion options. The midriffs and the boobs all out are played out. It got the best of her when she did the Super Bowl and I hate how everybody saw my girl like that. I felt so sad and embarrased for her and me. When something happens to Janet, it happens to me.

Same goes for Mariah. The sensuality was cool in the "Honey" video, but then she started to run with it thinking the public liked it and she paid the price dearly. The "Loverboy" video was her nadir (or was it "Heartbreaker (Remix)"?).

Personally, I think "ho" behavior is killing music as well as "thug" behavior. Personally, I like "whore" behavior. There's a difference in a "whore" and a "ho". A "whore" is a 'nasty' woman, so to speak. I "ho" is a nasty CHEAP woman.

I'm from the old school and I love the sexy "whore" look. I remember Donna Summer dressing like a prostitute and standing on a corner in several hooker scenes for her "Bad Girls" album. LaBelle doing a hooker song called "Lady Marmalade". Vanity 6 and Apollonia 6 dressing in sexy lingere. Madame X singing "Just That Time of Girl". Cheri singing "Working Girl". Madonna flaunting her sexuality all over the place.

What's the difference in those women and the women of today? The MUSIC was good. I don't give a damn if they couldn't sing a note as long as they had good strong MUSIC behind them. These "ho's" today are just like their music.....CHEAP!

But wait a minute PRINCE FANS... let's not get all myopic. Are we having revisionist tendencies or something?

HELLO! Prince is a HO! He had his butt on the VMAs.

Ho behavior isn't relegated to just females.

Oh yeah AND HOW COULD WE FORGET ABOUT VANITY 6 APOLLONIA 6?! Wearing friggin' lingerie on their album covers. Come on children.

If we're gonna talk about hoes, at least be equitable.

What about "My sugar walls"?

Hoe activities didn't start with Madonna, didn't reach it's lowest point with Trina or Lil Kim. It's always been around.

Do we just simply have a problem with the current generation or are we being naïve?

"is 'ho behavior' killing music?"

hm..
it's probably not helping.

but then again, since the "advent" of "MTV"
it's been too often more about "style" then about "substance".

I beg your pardon. lol Prince is FAR from a ho. Prince is a whore. There is a big difference.

You are absolutely correct about this behavior not being related to females. I don't believe in discrimination. Why should females be the only ones to have all the fun?

Like my mama used to always say....."Whatever you want to be in life, be a good one". I'm a whore myself and a damned good whore! I take that back....I'm not a whore...I am THE whore!

yeah there are 3 artists who I feel lost the integrity of there music in the midst of this Hoe buisness.....

1.Janet Jackson....now she sings about the same ol tired shit.
2.Mariah Carey....great vocalist, good song writer...she just lost her marbles after the nervous breakdown...hopefully we can get some more pre 97 Mariah again...
3.Toni Braxton....probably the most disapointing to me...her debut was so classy, sensual, beautiful voice....WTF????happened uuuuugggghhhhh!!!!!

I think these three women all fell victim to the classic "OK, people liked this one sexual track I did, so let me just run with it." Unfortunately, they ran the sh*t into the ground and folks scurried away.

Janet's sexy high point was "If" and the entire "Janet." album. After that she was like, oh damn, I should be sexy more often. Her downfall came with that Super Bowl sh*t.

Mariah's sexy high point was "Honey" and the Butterfly era. Her downfall came with the hoe videos (Loverboy, appearing on TRL in a t-shirt, the Rainbow era!)

Toni's sexy high point was "You're Making Me High." Everybody was diggin' her look and she was like "OMG, I need to be sexy more often!" Toni's downfall came with that nasty a** dress on the Grammys. Lookin' like toliet tissue connected with a shower ring.

All these women still have class, but they've got to ditch that a**. People don't wanna see it. You've gotta be Beyonce (but even she can't take it to far). For ladies, they've got to be sensual. Show something here and there, but please, leave it to our imagination!

That Song is Wonderful..Street Life...I am kinda Bored with the Same dancing and Schict of the Performers on MTV and the Like. It's Getting very Boring. The Emphasis is More on Sex then the Music Right? Well, they figure it will Sell the Album..Especially Madonna thinks this way.
