I was just listening to the 'Essential Fishbone' CD this past weekend. My top three:

After 9/11 I remember thinking how "Party at Ground Zero" was so "NOT the song to be playing right about now." I saw them perform on Halloween during the 80s. I wanna say it was at the Ritz, but I don't remember. They were the opening act for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. My date was into Fishbone (he didn't want to hang around for the headliner) and he was paying so.... I was never a big fan.
But, I did think Angelo was cute. He was in 9.9's "All of Me For All of You" video, but I don't remember what his affiliation with the girl group was. Okay these threads always make me think of similar acts. The Busboys come to mind.

As usual, Pali takes all the best ones. That's mine too, so there. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

To be honest, I had never heard of Fishbone before this weekend. I read that Prince used some of "Lyin' Ass Bitch" on "Billy Jack Bitch" so I downloaded the former and now I can say that I know where that "BIIIIITCH!" bit came from.
And since this is the only Fishbone song I know, I gotta say it's my favorite! I mean, like, where is the sun?

I love all of Fishbone's music!!! It's a shame they are severely underrated, and a lot of their sound is "stolen" "duplicated"!!! from other groups, especially the pop version of them No Doubt, (at least they were praised and Gwen Stefani stated they were No Doubt's main influences) they jammed with No Doubt on one of their albums, forgot! Lemon Meringue- FUNKY!
Unyielding Conditioning - Love the ska here Pray To The Junkie Maker - the lyrics are funny as hell, but true Everyday Sunshine - Love how it just gets crazy fast at the end. Cholly - Sunless Saturday - I love the intro to this song, as well as the rest of it. The end is beautiful. Ugly - Ma and Pa - I find this one really sad Alcoholic - Bonin' in the Boneyard - Great intro. Love the bass throughout. Lyin' Ass Bitch - Love Pauline Black Slick Nick - Another funny, yet sort of sad one. Fight the Youth - Pressure - This one is so great live!
