So which is YOUR favourite?

Vespertine. It holds such a sacred place in my heart, that I can't even start to describe what it means to me.

Almost every time I listen to it, it's a religious experience.

I think she's gotten better with every proper album she's done since she went solo.

gosh, that's a tough one. i can't let those albums compete against each other. they're all so interconnected to me. bjork is someone who i'm a HUGE fan of, and i wasn't even aware i was such a huge fan until a friend pointed out all the bjork stuff i have lying around my apartment. i never really thought of all that stuff being the fruits of "fandom" the way i think about being a prince freak. i just think of her music and videos as being art and ideas and colors and images, and they just happen to stem from her. so, i dunno....each of her albums lives in its own little vacuum where i'm concerned, untouched by what came before it or what comes after...but at the same time, they're pieces of a bigger puzzle. i love vespertine SOOO much, but i love post too, for entirely different reasons. really, i love them all pretty much equally. nope, can't make a choice on this one.

For me, I go with Post. Simply because of the eclectic nature of it. That album is a journey.

Homogenic on the other hand, what can you really say about this album except.....fuck. Bjork has said that musically Homogenic is as close to what the music she hears in her head sounds like.

I think she's the most vital artist to come out of the 90s. She brings music to a whole new level because everything she does is tied to art. Her lyrics aren't just words, they are poetry. The sounds aren't just notes, they are soundscapes that bring to life her lifepulse. Visually, she just brings it yet again.

She will always be one of my all time favorites. She can't release enough music as far as I'm concerned.

Debut is my personal favorite. But Post is a close second, because it's so diverse.

Post is the essential album for everything that Bjork has covered musically.

But Debut is still the album that won me over.

Björk means sound to me. Nature's voice. Her every album a progression from what she left behind.

The SugarCubes had her bawling, then Debut was a firm shout out of independency.
Post was her being troubled. And found her searching.
On Homogenic she found that inner voice, which meant that her beats became more gentle.

The sounds on Selmasongs are gentle, but very impressive; they impress fear and stength. I have the movie version of 107 Steps and I can never listen to it. Music so good it leaves an impression on the soul so deep it is imprinted in it.

Then Vespertine. What can I say? This woman's music becomes more divine the less instrumentation she uses.

A good friend of mine is sceptic about coming album Medulla, but I am not. My favourite album of Björk is always the latest....



I heard Triumph Of The Heart, a track not on the list to be released, but she speaks of this track while relating to Mark Bell in the Q&A section; "mark bell came later into it he´s funny . i e-mailed him "where is the line " and like a year later he e-mailed me a little idea for it . then when i was mixing in london , i hadn´t been in england for ages then , he would turn up at the studio a lot and ended up rescuing "triumph of the heart" for me . that was the last song and had been the hardest one to get right."

For me, it's a tie between Vespertine and Debut. Debut, because it's so amazing for a debut, and Vespertine because it's so magical. Vespertine really hangs together, and I love how ethereal it is. Of course, there are amazing tracks on every album... Joga, Possibly Maybe... but I just got the Live Box and it's amazing how she takes her music to other realms. I found my self getting more into songs like Come To Me, from listening to the live version. Debut live is great. Venus as a Boy with only her and the harpsichord just kills me. She has impressed me sooooo much, and I STILL want Medulla to blow this all out of the water. She is an amazing artist.
