George Clinton!! Any of my fellow Orgers go to the George Clinton gig lastnight? (The Ocean, in Hackney)
I was there, and it was simply the best musical experience i've ever had. I'm still buzzing!! from it His band were so damn good. You could tell they were absolutely loving being out there. The ones that stand out in my mind is this crazy young girl playing violin and dancing all over the place (only at a Clinton gig!) The guitarist who performed this beautiful solo that had everybody in attendance in silent awe (i wish i knew what piece he was playing) And of course the leadman, Clinton. He worked the crowd like a true showman- Singing, shouting, dancing, and 'swearing'... damn, i didn't realise how much that man curses!! What truly made the gig my favourite , though, was the audience. It was the first gig i've been to where i've experinced absolutley no attitude. People were singing along together and dancing with eachother. Everyone was so happy - Reflected wonderfully when somne nutter in the crowd pulled off his top (a poncho!) and threw it on stage. Clinton in turn picks up the top and puts it on, and goes on to do the most ridiculous dance i've ever seen! Brilliant! I took my best friend and she was absolutely blown away by it.. Her only other 'musical' experience had been to see Robbie Williams at Slaine Hopefully lastnight will serve as her awakening Next time i take her out hopefully it will be because Prince is in town! Funnily enough as we left the gig they were giving out flyers for the Prince Party in September- first i had herad about that! Might have to attend. Anyway, i just wanted to share the experince and say that if the man and his band come to your town - BE THERE "London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"
"YEAH!!!" "Yeah, well then fuck those other fools!"

I saw George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars back in 1990. A particularly good year as I saw Prince, Wendy & Lisa and George and I have to agree. The band and George enjoy what they do and they energy and raw talent just shine through for the whole show. I came away from the show with my jaw on the floor for about 6 months and wearing the tour t-shirt until it virtually fell off. A true funk legend, who if anyone ever has the chance to see has got to drop everything and learn what real funk is and groove 2on the one"

I was there too...
I thought it started off a bit oddly.. like the mix wasn't quite right but it got better and better. Loved the second half most. All in all an amazing show. What was that Bounce song at the end????

What a funkfest !! The PFunk crew were firin' big time. It was much more Parliament orientated than Funkadelic, which I was more than happy with.
George still has the amazing stage presence - one smile & a raise of the arms from him & people were going nuts !! Absolute legend. The first half was awesome but the 2nd half with 'PooMan' impersonating James Brown was quite possibly the funkiest track Ive EVER heard - it don't get no funkier than that The Funk, the whole funk & nothin' but the funk, ya dig?!

see: "Somethin' Stinks 'N I Want Some." Who is his granddaughter? Was she at On The Bricks? yup. She's the one that came out towards the end. She's also the only one that didn't bother gettin' gussied up for the show. "Pedro offers you his protection."
