Everytime vs. Everytime

Which do you like better, Janet's or Britney's? Well, I am no Britney fan, so of course I prefer Janet's. It's more beautiful and pleasant. I'm not sure what Britney is trying to do in this song. She's not singing. She's not rapping. What is that? The video makes me hate this song even more. She drowns herself and then she doesn't? I don't get it

I don’t care for Janet so much anymore. But I would never, ever compare Brittney to anything that Janet has put out. Janet hands down.

Sorry but Britney has possibally the wosrt voice 4 ballads since i heard a Latoya jackson ballad!
Voice on ballads is shit, I think she deliberately sings in that type of crappy breathy voice- I think she could sing alot better though.....maybe a Whitney type ballad- except that they r not "in" (thank god) at the moment so that's unlikely.....

Janet's. Especially the Jam & Lewis Disco Remix.

Britney's has a nice melody, I guess, but the production is so plain Jane, and her voice is atrocious as usual.

Janet. First time I heard Britney's version was on SNL and it sounded like three people had written three different parts and they just pieced the song together. It's weak and choppy to me.

Britney's.

because Janet's is a second-hand knock-off of Again. been there done that, making Everytime completely unoriginal, unnecessary, and it pales in the shadow of Again. why bother.

Britney's isn't that much better, but it is a more mature-sounding/themed ballad for her.

There was blood in the video? I wasn't even paying attention. My attention span subsides when that video comes on

I don't really understand any of it. It's like the guy throws the vase, she has a little fit, sits in the bathtub, then puts her hand in back of her head, looks some blood on her hand, realizes her head is bleeding then drowns? How did her head start bleeding? How come the bathwater didn't turn red? Did she come back to life at the end? And if she does come back to life, why did she get my hopes up in the first place? confused sad Anyway the song, and Britany's voice are both just as horrible as the video, so I'd take Janet's 'Everytime' any day.

It's so easy to dismiss certain 'artists' and types of music. Britney Spears is an easy target, but people should be able to see through that....

.... Everytime by Britney Spears is a really good song!!

Although she is credited with co-writing it, its impossible to know how much input she had but whoever did write it deserves the credit.

Also, it took Britney in a new direction - rather than settling for the usual upbeat predictable 'power pop' - and it worked for her - I don't know how it did in the U.S but it was a UK number 1.

Listen to it again... and pretend it's not Britney singing (if that helps)!

Janet's is one song I don't really like listening to now (or even watching the video to - nice contacts). I thought this song was pretty generic. HOWEVER! I do regret not having the single (still never found it) because "Accept Me" is hot.

Britney's... almost made me buy the album eek That piano is doooope.

The song has a nice melody, but that piano riff is pretty damn conventional to say the least. Completely unremarkable to me, but whatever floats your boat wink .

It's unique I think! And just the format where the piano has its own place apart from the verses and choruses..

I love 2 singles by Britney. "Slave 4 U", and this one.

Yeah, the Neptunes did make that song really hot. I actually liked this one, but I hate "Everytime", it's one of the worst ballads I've ever heard. Plus, that video was supposed to be about reincarnation, but where does it say that you're going to get reincarnated into human form again? She should have just done the video to match the weak lyrics of this song and have a Justin look-alike or something....but she denied that the song was about Justin from what I heard.

whistle

I'm afraid I'm starting to feel
What I said I would not do
The last time really hurt me

I'm scared to fall in love
Afraid to love so fast
Cuz everytime I fall in love
It seems to never last

But every time your love is near
And every time I'm filled with fear
Cuz every time I see your face
My heart does begin to race everytime

One half wants me to go
One half wants me to stay
I just get so all confused

I'm scared to fall in love
Afraid to love so fast
Cuz every time I fall in love
It seems to never last

I'm scared to fall in love
Afraid to love so fast
Cuz everytime I fall in love
It seems to never last

But every time your love is near
And every time I'm filled with fear
Cuz every time I see your face
My heart does begin to race everytime

I'm scared to fall in love
Afraid to love so fast
Cuz everytime I fall in love
It seems to never last

But every time your love is near
And every time I'm filled with fear
Cuz every time I see your face
My heart does begin to race everytime

It's everytime
It's everytime
Cuz. . .

Everytime your love is near
And every time I'm filled with fear
Cuz every time I see your face
Could it be that this will be the one that lasts?
The fear does start to erase every time
Oh could it be that this will be the one that lasts
For all my times
Ooh yeah
For all my times

whistle
I love it.

Yep! I love that song! Though "Everytime" isn't Janet's best, the maxi-single is definitely worth it for that remix & b-side.
