Crystal Waters

She had a couple of nice dance cuts, like Gypsy Woman, Makin' Happy and 100% Pure Love.

Does anyone know if she is still recording music?

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I haven't heard anything from her lately but I love her music. That's when house was good befoe techno took over and everything started sounding the same.

The Basement Boys (Tommy Davis, Jay Steinhour and Teddy Douglass), who did the music to most of her hits(and (Ultra Nate), live right here in Baltimore. I knew them before they hit it big and they are still very nice and low key today. On a side note, Tommy plays old school house every friday night at this small club (free admittance) and every other friday at Ultra Nate's house party called Sugar. If you ever make it to Baltimore on a Friday night, it's the pace to be.
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!

She was great. I still love her first album, one of my favorite house albums of all time. Just about that whole album is classic, particularly the singles Gypsy Woman, Makin' Happy and Surprise. Her second album was good, but damn if I didn't get tired of 100% Pure Love. Say...If You Feel Alright was okay, but it was the EWF sample that made is worth listening to. razz
