STEVIE WONDER KICKED ASS 2NIGHT!!!

I just got back home after a 2 hour concert with
Stevie Wonder in Stockholm,Sweden.
I was'nt sure about going at first.Recent live appearances with
him I was'nt that thrilled about & I imagined that he was no longer
the singer he once was.
After 2nite I will never underestimate Stevie again!!!

His singing was unbelievable. As great as it ever was!!!
He came in,the crowed went nuts.He sat down by the grand piano & started
playing the intro 2 "Golden lady" before the band joined in.
Talk about a great opener!!!Next was an incredible "If you really love me".
Sooo dynamic when Stevie breaks it down in the verse."Master blaster" followed.
He had a REAL Clavinet on stage.
With that clavinet thru the wah wah he started playing the funkiest things
before bursting into"Higher ground" with that funky clavinet in the front.
The whole place was ROCKING.

He played incredible harmonica on Errol Garners "Misty"
& held a touching speech about Syreeta Wright who just passed away,
before alone on the grand piano performing "You and I".
He also did "My cherie amour",with no band, just with grand piano.
Then 2 my delght he did 3 songs from "Secret journey",
"Come back as a flower" as a solo piano instrumental,
then "The secret life of plants" & with the band "Send one your love"

Among other songs he did was "Overjoyed","Ribbon in the sky",
"Signed, sealed delivered","Sir duke","I wish","You are the sunshine of my life"
"Superstition",which litteraly set the whole arena on fire!!!
"Do I do" & Another star".
As I said, what most impressed me was his singing.
He showed all us doubters 2nite & he showed us big time

I'm sooooo glad I finally decided 2 go!

Damn, man!!! That was an awesome experience and a very special one too, since Stevie doesn't tour often. This something I want to go through if he ever tour the states again. Great review.

Did he happen to give a new release date? Rumor has it, as a result of the recent passing of Syreeta and Ray Charles he wanted to add a song or two.

The moment you said Golden Lady, my jealousy kicked in. Then you said If You Really Love Me, which is one of my top ten favorite Stevie songs and now I'm really salty. mad

I'm glad you had a great time, sweetie.

The presale release date says December 31, 2004. Sounds suspiciously like a default date as that's a Friday and most drop on Tuesday.

Wow Manki! I've never considered myself a Stevie fan, but I recognize a few of those songs... After reading this review a few days ago, I found myself singing some Stevie songs during the day, just out of the blue they would pop into my head. I'm gonna have to listen to that compilation you made me. Thanks for the great review and for the cd!!!
