80's RnB Throwback "High Hopes" By S.O.S. Band

I'm giving this ONLIEST cheap ass raggedy compilation a revisiting treatment lately:

High Hopes still sounds good & fresh as ever music

I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back.
I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there.
I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish.
And I am

Isn't that SOS Band cover art just some of the most embarrassing computer-produced shit you've ever seen?

How did Tabu manage to approve THAT cover but the "Best Of" compilations for Cherrelle and Alexander O'Neal got classier treatments (at least they had photos)?

But don't let looks deceive; that SOS Band CD is bangin'

I have that CD. Not only did they leave out "Just Be Good To Me", they also left out "S.O.S." and "For Your Love".

"High Hopes" was OK but it wasn't one of my favorites.

For any SOS Band fan, you should check out their 12 Inches. The dub mixes are really good.

You're right. I meant to say "Just The Way You Like It". The two songs are so similar, I get them confused when referring to them.

"High Hopes" is my favorite SOS Band song.It takes me back to the fall of 1982....

I had High Hopes for you and me
Thought we'd be together eternally
High Hopes..for our love
felt like it was heaven sent from above

That's one of their strongest grooves too.

High Hopes! Now there is a JAM! If memory serves me correct, this was Jam and Lewis' first production gig. Isn't this the track that got them fired from the Time when they were late getting back from Atlanta?

I think so or it must be their work with Cheryl Lynn's "Encore". Also, Prince was in depth with the dillusion that they worked with the whispers on their 1982 album(4got its title) thinking that it has that "Minneapolis sound" in its production.

Damn that jam "High Hopes" got some groovy ass bass-lines that reminds me of Louis Johnson's music

You're talking about The Whisper's spring-1983 hit "Keep On Loving Me".When Prince heard this song on the radio,he (wrongly) assumed that it was a Jam and Lewis production....lol...I'm not sure, but I think Jam and Lewis' first outside production job was Klymaxx's late-82 song "Wild Girls",which bombed as a single.
