Just got back from Yoshi's, the West Coast's premiere jazz club. Oakland's own Pete Escovedo & His Orchestra, featuring Pete's daughter, Shelia E (drum kit), and Pete's two sons, Juan and Peter Michael (congas), tore the roof off the house with some tasty latin jazz. It was Pete's 69th birthday and the house was rockin. Shelia threw in a little Love Bizzare and G. Life to satisfy the Prince crowd. All in all a great show that will be at Yoshi's through Sunday 7/18. Check it out if you are in the Bay Area.

BTW - Next week, Pete is opening his own latin jazz club in San Joses (Pete Escovedo's Latin Jazz Club) and Shelia E and the E Train will be opening the joint 7/23-26.
