I plan to see it. I actually think Jamie is a halfway decent choice to play him, @ least he has some degree of both musical & acting ability. Hope he don't fuck it up

I saw a preview of this already and I think that you may all be surprised at Jamie's performance.

Considering how stupid I've seen Jamie act, he's been surprising a lot of people with his serious acting roles. He's doing that one with Tom Cruise, whatever it's called. And didn't he play the head of the Crips on a movie for showtime or something?
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal" - Carl Sagan

The cat did a really good Drew “Bundini” Brown in the Ali flick.
I think i'd be more concerned about it being a well written and produced film than Jamie's acting. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Jamie Foxx looks and sounds so much like Brother Ray that it is frightening! I know I will be one of the first in line on October 29th to see this movie! "Say it Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud!!!" - Brother James Brown
"Make my funk the P-FUNK...I want my funk uncut...." Brother George Clinton

Looks pretty good. I have to say, what seems most moving in the film (judging from the trailer) doesn't come from the director or the star -- it's the music. It's hard not to be moved by his music.

Wow. I was kinda scared too, but after clicking on the link and seeing the press photo, I couldn't believe how much Jamie looked like Ray. It's hard to tell whether it's gonna be good or not, but the music fan in me will not allow me to miss it.

I actually know Ray Charles Jr. and his family pretty well. I first met Ray Jr. about 3 years ago regarding a screenplay that I had written. He gave it to his youngest daughter Blair to read the script first and she totally dug it. She hyped it up to him untill he read it. Anyway, long story short, Ray Jr. told me that he dug it as well, BUT he is working on getting his father's movie made. He has worked 10 years on getting this thing made! Anyway, I got to know his family pretty well through this. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Had no interest in seeing this movie until I saw the trailer before "I Robot" (Which should have been better) this weekend. I was sucked in just watching the trailer. The part about "owning his masters" catches any Prince fans ear lol. Didn't know Ray Charles had such an interesting story. Can't wait to see this.
