The Tipping Point What do you think of the new Roots album? My first impression is that it doesn't seem to gel together as an album, which is surprising. Love the Sly sample.

Care to expand on your feelings, psyko?
Compared to their other albums, gone are the segues which usually mixed each song brilliantly into one another. The flow just seems stifled in places, such as the interchange between Don't Say Nuthin and Guns Are Drawn. Quest has already mentioned that he wants the album to be re-released because of this, suggesting that there are in the region of 12 mistakes on the album.

The first 3 roots albums were nice musically and pretty much sufficed as great mood music. This is the first album where Black Thought really shines as an aggressive M.C. To me this album reminds me why I fell in love with hip-hop in the first place. It's left of centre without sounding like an attempt to be left of centre, know what I mean?
