New Bjork album! To be released on August 30th/August 31st in the US. Details are still sketchy about the project, but it's pretty clear that it's going to be an instrument-free affair this time around. Some of the titles being thrown around are, "Nameless", "Where Is The Line?", "The Pleasure Is All Mine", "Triumph" and "Desired Constellation". She mentioned that normally, she finishes and album and goes right on tour. This time though, she wants to do back to back albums since she just finished back to back tours. Here's what she recently said about the project.
"I just got really bored with instruments. I started doing everything with my voice. Then suddenly I didn't want to work with any musicians, which is a bit weird. I only wanted to work with vocalists." She was inspired, she says, by paganism, and the rather esoteric idea of returning to a universe that is entirely human -- without tools or religion or nationalities. "I wanted the record to be like muscle, blood, flesh," she says, pumping her fist. "We could be in a cave somewhere and one person would start singing, and another person would sing a beat and then the next person sing a melody, and you could just kind of be really happy in your cave. It's quite rootsy," she adds, rolling the "r" for emphasis in her native fashion. I don't know about this one. Either it's gonna be like, "What the fuck is this?" or it's going to be the most brilliant thing ever. We'll see.

I can't wait!!! I'm sure it'll be brilliant. She has yet to disappoint musically. In my opinion.

I can't wait!!! I'm sure it'll be brilliant. She has yet to disappoint musically. In my opinion. That's how I feel. She's honestly the only artist I can think of that hasn't made a mistake in some way or another artistically.

She's honestly the only artist I can think of that hasn't made a mistake in some way or another artistically. I think part of the reason is because there's no one like her. She's very much her "own" artist. If that makes sense to you. It appears as if she takes her time in choosing just the right sounds and conveying exactly what she wants with each song. Which is nothing less than honesty and beauty. I love watching the dvds and hearing about her thought process and recording process. The human body as the music. Sounds very primitive. I love it already.

instruments are SOOOO over
this album is going to be precariously walking the fine line between utter, absolute mind-blowig ear-fuck and complete disaster. i'm hoping for the former, but the latter would probably end up pretty interesting as well "I don't need your forgiveness, cos I've been saved by Jesus, so fuck you."

I'm more and more into her with each dvd I buy. Her albums are one thing, (and that's enough)... her videos are creative and artistic, (which is rare) but her live performances are pure brilliance!!! Watching the dvd that came with the Live Box, I realized that her whole body is a vehicle for her voice. So powerful, so primal... so incredible! I just put this in my profile yesterday:

I LOVE "Desired Constellation". There was another new song she performed at the Hollywood Bowl, but I don't know the name of it. Can't wait to see her again.

Also, there is a Q+A about the new album on the site as well. You just have to register to read it if you're not a Telegraph member.
