what do you think Madonna's next album should be like?

should she continue in the direction she's going.... combining social and personal commentary with darker/edgier electro-pop like American Life?

or should she liven it up and live a little and pull herself out of the doldrums with electro-pop... like, say, something of a cross between Kylie's recent album and Music?

or do you think she should go in a different direction altogether?


i'd be happy with the second option..... however, i'd like to see her cross it with something else. i'm thinking that she should work with the people who did the American Life and Love Profusion rock mixes on the remixed & revisited EP (Headcleanr). and work with the people that did those 2 Nobody Knows Me remixes. Mount Sims, i think. going in a more rock & retro-electro-new wave direction. but christ, please keep it light. not so heavy this time around. she seems due up for another fun/light record if the pattern holds up.... Erotica (dark, edgy), Bedtime Stories (light, fluffy), Evita (snore-inducing), Ray Of Light (serious), Music (fun), American Life (self-pitying/reflective)..... the next should be a return to great, mostly-fun pop. i think.

i agree, that's a great idea!

I hear you on her music being a tad bit too dark. Ever since "Ray of Light," her albums have gotten darker and darker. Sure, there are great moments in those dark records like Impressive Instant, Nobody's Perfect, Nothing Fails, and To Have And Not To Hold, but I miss those euphoric Madonna tunes. I still live for her 80s fare. The last euphoro-pop song I remember by Madge was "Beautiful Stranger" back in '99 (great track). I'd love to see her return to that or get campy for a change. Her singles have been so dark, somber and reflective -- maybe that's why American Life failed commercially. The lead single and "Hollywood" were just too bleak for folks.

No more electro/techno sounds.And let's chill with the acoustic guitar.I'd like to see Madonna make a "fun" pop album again.Her recent albums have been serious,introspective works and there's nothing wrong with that.But I want another happy,upbeat album again,something along the lines of 'Bedtime Stories' (a very underrated album).My ultimate "dream album" would be a Madonna CD produced by Jamiroquai and Remy Shand (for the ballads)...a soulful,dance/pop/R&B album with a retro-disco feel to it.


Rumor has it that she will soon be going into the studio with Patrick Leonard again!
