"Do the bartman".....

Found my single cassette of this old chestnut today! Last saw it when i was about 6 years old- thought I lost it forever- tune sounded dated just 1 year later! I stopped listening to it after about a million listens in 2 weeks! Bought it when it first came out when about 5 years old or something- wore that mutha out...

Possibally the most dated early 90's song ever (and theres loads of those)! Gotta love that production on those drums- very street! The house edit (which is nothing like house) is even more dated, I love it!

guess who wrote this mutha of a tune? Should be the best trivia question ever...

Remember the vid? This song is a true nostalgic trip 4 me as everyone had this song in my school and used to dance to it etc.....

Come on, give it up 4 the funkiest, most dated huge hit ever....Dig those crisp drum patterns!

Sings those cool backing vocals too.....don't u find it odd that Bart refers to Michael several times in the song? In joke maybe-or just ego! I reckon he co-prduced it with bryan Loren- production simular to "Superfly sister" off "Blood on the dancefloor" album (obviously "Superfly sister" was recorded at same time as "Do the bart man")

"If u can do the bartman ur bad like Michale jackson"
"Eat ur heart out michael"
I'm bad, i'm bad" (adlibs).....intersting simpsons connection there.....Michale one of the first to be a really big star voice on the simpsons so give it up to him..(Frasiers kelsey Grammer proberly beats him to it as star voices go chronologically- he was voice of Sideshow bob by the way-proberly an even older episode then the Mj one so he was first proberly?)

Actually, BMI is crediting Loren Bryan as the songwriter.
The publisher is ATV Music which I believe is MJ's company.

It was him- though i found out many years later- always a rumour and always thought it was him on backing (Mj very underated in the artform of backing vocals- usually very unique in sound-honestly)

Y no credit? Don't know really- same reason it don't credit his name on Simpsons episode which is proberly legal reasons concerning his tight arse reocrd company Sony! U know, Jacko can only record and work 4 sony so jacko gives (in this song case) his producing mate credit!
