Remember when Fabolous came out, I thought it was Mase rapping at first. They both rap alike and kinda sound alike to me. I didn't know it was Fabolous from the start.
So when Mase's new song "Welcome Back" came out, I thought it was from Fabolous.
Did that ever happened to you or am I just amagining them sounding alike?

MTV: I'm sure you've heard this a couple times, but a lot of people have been making comparisons between you and Mase. What's your reaction to that?

Fabolous: When I first heard it I was like, "Well, everyone gets a comparison." It was OK, 'cause Mase was doing his thing at the time. Then I did a song with him, and I was like, "'A'ight, there's a voice similarity." People were saying, "Y'all kind of flow the same way." I knew that after people heard me they'd be able to separate the two. When you first hear somebody, you're like, "Who's that? He sounds like ... " But once you keep hearing them, then that becomes their identity. As long as people can distinguish, I don't care about the comparison. I take it as a compliment.

MTV: You've said that the bigger you get, the more problems there are. How do you deal with the haters?

Fabolous: Hating lets you know that you're hot, 'cause nobody hates on somebody that's wack. It's like bootlegging. You don't see bootleggers bootlegging wack [albums], 'cause it ain't gonna sell. They're only bootlegging the hot [albums]. I'm trying to teach people that there's no reason to hate, man. You might not have a talent that's musical, but everybody can do their own thing.
