Yes,I remember most of those artists/bands....
Dynasty---I really like their 1980 hit "I've Just Begun To Love You",which sounds alot like Shalamar.I used to have that album on vinyl. Juicy ---"Give it up to me...baby,do the Beat Street Strut".Remember their other hit "Sugar Free" from 1986? I think they were a brother/sister duo. Madame X ---produced by Bernadette Cooper,I always thought they sounded like a funkier Vanity 6.Their song "I Want Your Body" is outrageous! It has an early-80s Princely feel to it,as do a few other tracks on their album. Bill Summers and Summer's Heat ---I can't believe that this band never gets talked about on this site (considering all the Old School funk fans we have around here, lol).Remember early-80s jams like "Call it What You Want" and "Jam The Box"? In 1982,they went New Wave with "17". Howard Johnson ---his summer 1982 hit "So Fine" is one of my favs. [This message was edited Wed Jul 14 2:01:31 2004 by DavidEye]

If I recall correctly, her solo album came out in 1987,featuring the singles "Thigh Ride" and "Did I Dream You?".She's an amazing vocalist.

Can you guys help me find out who sings these songs? I remember hearing them on the radio in the 80s,and I'm gonna go crazy if I don't find these tracks...
"Leave The Lights On" (1987) ---in the fall of 1987,this dreamy ballad was all over the radio in my area. It's a man and woman singing about keeping the lights on when they make love...."Girl,let me see your hairnet...your skin's so silky to the touch,I can hardly stand it" In 1984,I remember hearing a song by a lady. She was singing about her breakdancing boyfriend, and you hear a guy throughout the song saying "Cut it up,wiz!" LOL...yeah,I know it sounds corny, but it was a cool jam.I'm sure Finess knows this song. In 1982,I recall a song that sounded like Zapp or Roger, but it wasn't them. The guy is using a similiar voicebox, singing about the way a girl dances and how good she looks.Very funky tune. anybody know what the hell I'm talking about?

Invisible Man's Band
They were interesting because if you remember, the whole family (The Burke family)was originally the Five Stairsteps("Ooh Child"), in the midseventies they stripped down to just Stairsteps( "2nd Resurrection" with tunes like "Pasado") and in the early eighties, they mutated into the Invisible Man's Band( "All Night Thing"), then bassist Keni Burke broke out and did his own thing, scoring a hit with "(Keep)Rising To The Top"... I will have to go to the basement to look up the vinyl. I bought a 12 inch by them... haven't heard it in years... what was it again? Michael Henderson, you don't need to "remember" him if you know anything about RB. You are my starship is a classic got that on vinyl too. Lakeside, you can't go to an old skool jam party and not hear Fantastic Voyage. Nu Shooz on 45 "I can't wait". Troop to me is the beginning of hip hop as was Terry Tate Jones Girls, Nights over Eygpt Gosh you are making me want to sneak behind my husband's back and go to Kaaza. What about Toni, Tony, Tone?? Leon Sylvers penned many of the Whipers and Shalamar classics that have that same sound. But David I'm sure you know that. Bill Summers was great. Another one that was a jam was "At The Concert" I have Howard Johnsons first two albums (don't know if he released any others) His second album is really slept on. "Let's Take Time Out" produced by the System, is slammin. Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance
