"Mothership Connection (Star Child)"...the song!  Probably my favorite song by Parliament, and I'm listening to it now. The bass, the horn arrangement, the party chatter...then comes this haunting breakdown with the "Swing down..." chant!  Didn't George say he was trippin' on acid the night he and Bootsie saw "the mothership", or was it cocaine?  Oh, well, back to my one-man party. It's hard to say what the best Parliajoint is for me, I would say the above album but they came right back the next year with Motor Booty Affair which was meant to be a live/animated film, just think how cool that would have been, it would have been right up there with The Wiz, maybe even better. | |
