I agree Sassy! This is probably the best concert production I've ever seen.I was really impressed with the entire production...the setlist, the choreography, the video images, the catwalk that extends out into the audience, the costumes, and most of all,Madonna's vocals, which have never sounded better.I love the 'Drowned World Tour' but this show is better in every way.During that tour,Madonna seemed angry and pissed off in certain parts, and she didn't smile much or interact with the crowd.Plus, there were a few less-than-exciting moments (the slow-as-molasses "Mer Girl" being played twice (!)...that awful country song "Oh Dear Daddy").But the 'Reinvention' show is like a big party, and it's alot of fun. This show also flows better than 'DW',and there wasn't a dull moment anywhere.I don't think I've ever been more excited about an upcoming concert DVD than I am about the 'Reinvention Tour' DVD.

Okay, I'm gonna post my thoughts finally. I was at the show on Sunday. I had 'decent' seats...Section 302 row 1. I thought the show was great. The imagery was outta hand, Madonna sounded very good, the dancing/stage antics were inspired, the song selection very strong. The stage was THE single most impressive thing I've ever seen. Seeing the stage quickly helped me understand WHY this tour isn't shifting cities every other night. That stage is simply TOO outta control. I couldn't imagine tearing that thing down and moving it every night or 2. Oddly, as I go on and on about the spectacle of everything, my favorite moment was one of the more simple moments. I really enjoyed her rendition of "Nobody Knows Me." Just seeing her do the crazy dance on the conveyor belt while the lyrics of the song pummeled the audience from every screen, well, it moved me. Next favorite moment was Nothing Fails. I just wanted that song to go on and on and on. It really is a gorgeous song and it translated so well live, IMO. Other highlights included the rocking Burnin' Up, Don't Tell Me (with the inclusion of what I call the 'bittersweet symphony strings') and Music. Also, seeing the catwalk for the 1st time made my jaw hit the floor. I am still kicking myself and my spastic bladder as I stepped out to use the bathroom and missed the first 2 minutes of American Life. Oh yeah, another highlight was THE DANCERS-YUMMM! All that being said, though. The show was 'great' for me but nothing more. It was missing something. I had even worse seats at Drowned World but spent that entire show in tears. I was speechless by the end. By the end of "Re-Invention" I was just like "huh, interesting. Alright, who wants to go out dancing?" My partner and I have come up with a number of theories as to why we both felt this way, but I won't go into them all here. Personally I felt chunks of the show LACKED energy. In particular, the arrangements of "Deeper and Deeper" and "Mother and Father" worked my nerves. I'm totally glad I went. I can't wait to see the show again on TV/DVD. But the show was missing something for me, something that kept me from being truly moved and something which will keep this show off of my list of "best shows ever." K, that was honest y'all, so don't hate me. I still would recommend the show to anyone who's a fan and has the money!

"better" is purely subjective. In my case, I will note that "Musicology" came up in about 50% of out theories as to why this show didnt resonate as strongly with me as I expected.

After seeing the show,I too can understand why she's not playing that many different areas. It would be ALOT of work to constanly move that massive stage around! I think it's easier to just play multiple dates in select areas and then take a few days to set it all up at the next venue (which is what they're doing). And from what I've heard, some arenas can't accomodate the catwalk. This is the exact reason why she's skipping Detroit, according to a roadie. I agree with you about "Nobody Knows Me".That's such a kickass performance! Seeing her prance around, looking cool and confident in those black leather boots....lol...she knows she has the audience in the palm of her hand, and it shows. The conveyer belt effect is dazzling too.
