How come I neva heard any mentions about her around here?

If I missed any conversations about her then my bad and if not then dammit lets get it on and talk about the bitch, already.

I'm giving this album a revisiting treatment:



Even tho it doesn't beat her intimate early bluse recordings, this one is a pack of brownies considering that it came at a time when she's doing the big fluff thing like everybody else(strings, big bands & hoop-la which are crowding her voice).

I was playing this sucka while cocking launch, its been a long looong looooong time since I played any of Queenie's records.

I know damn well that there're many fans sprinkled around here,,,speak up ya'll!

Nah, not many on this site. Most here probably don't because either they've never heard of her, or they don't care to check out any of her music. I'm more familiar with her jazz music than the blues material.

Anybody who cares, pick up an album called Dinah Jams!, if you like jazz, singing jazz, you will not be disappointed. "You Go To My Head" is sublime. She's one of those singers that everybody believes could sing just about anything.

On a personal level, she & Chaka have a lot in common. Both woman are known for their sassiness, fearful temper and nasty fights with everybody lol but Dinah was a more of a complex personality and she has a wild sense of humor.
