anyone have Johnny Cash, "Unearthed" ?

i got this recently off of ebay. i think it's really excellent. but now i want to put the outtakes with the 4 American Recordings discs.

the only problem is, it was used and didn't come with the liner notes/booklet/whatever it was.

i understand that there are extensive notes, and notations for each track. could anyone who has it be a dear and tell me what album each track on each of the first 3 discs goes with?

some of them are obvious, but i'd like to have a complete list?

anyone? eternal thaks if someone would do this smile

I have this box set, and it's fabulous. It's the kind of thing I want to sit back and take in as a whole, disc after disc, giving the whole thing my full attention. I don't have enough opportunities to give it this kind of love, but it's such a pleasure when I have the time.

I'm sure you can find the info you're looking for on the net - maybe at amazon.com or at the web site for American Recordings? I'm at work right now so I can't rattle off the info right now...I'll try to get it for ya if you can't find it elsewhere, though. If there's a specific song you're wondering about, maybe I can help ya out in the meantime.

i've been looking for the last few days. all i can find are tracklists. nothing that mentions, track by track, when things are from. as i said, some of it's obvious (or at least seems to be), but so much of it isn't. from what i've read, i think the whole first disc is from American I, and discs 2 & 3 cover the other 3 albums, but those are a bit more difficult to pin down. if you can write up a list... even just one for each disc with the track number and a I, II, III, or IV next to the track number, that would be great!

Glad you've got it. It's a wonderful thing, isn't it? "American 5" and a further collection of outtakes are due out in the 18 months.

Not much indication as to where the outtakes are from in the booklet. If you listen to American 1-4 you should be able to work out what comes from where, according to the mood or style of the tracks. The gospel disc is stand alone.

yah, it's not pointed out clearly in the booklet - if you're really on the huntdown for this info, you can check out the amazon.com tracklists for the johnny cash american albums and see which records the songs come from that way...?
