B2K's Raz-B arrested on Assault & Battery Charges

B2K's Raz-B is getting attention for allegedly going bump, bump, bump, but not in song.

The singer, whose real name is De'Mario Thornton, is facing misdemeanor charges of assault with a deadly weapon and battery causing serious bodily injury. Both charges stem from an incident last year in Van Nuys, California, when Thornton apparently got into an altercation with an unspecified number of men at an Arco gas station.

According to the Los Angeles city attorney's office, charges were filed in February and Thornton was supposed to be arraigned on March 15. When he didn't show up, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On June 30, Thornton was pulled over in Burbank for a minor traffic infraction, and police arrested him after checking his ID, later turning him over to the LAPD. The 19-year-old was arraigned on July 1 and released on $25,000 bail.

If found guilty of the assault charge, Thornton could face up to one year in prison and a fine of $25,000. If found guilty of battery, he could face up to one year in prison and a $2,000 fine. He's due back in court July 22, when a trial date will be set.
