1st a free ticket; then a show I'll NEVER forget! A lifelong fan is born! Let me start by saying....WOW! WOW! WOW! I had no idea or even would've imagined that when I woke up Monday morning, that I'd be at a Sarah Mclachlan concert later that evening. I like her. And am somewhat of a fan. I have 2 of her albums. So..I'm a fan to a certain extent. My friend who's a major Sarah fan had gotten free tickets from his part time job. At work he asked me if I wanted to go with him. He couldn't think of who else to ask, So I said sure! Damn glad I did too. This lady put on an incredible show. Singing her hits and some select non-single tracks, she had the audience in the palm of her hand. The stage was beautiful. Sort of an enchanted castle type setting. With moss "growing" on the steps throughout the stage. Broken "tower like" props hanging; rocks, iron gates, beautiful backdrop and screen images. And of course almost every lesbian in the known world in attendance. And a few of us guys too. During "Angel" you could hear everyone singing along, and people crying. She had dedicated the performance to a girl named Danielle who had lost her life too soon. "I Will Remember You" another crowd pleaser. Of course I can't remember the title of the next song I was going to mention, but Sarah, her back up vocalist, and 2 other band members sat down for a song and did one of the most beautiful 4 part harmonies I've ever heard in my life! WOW! She hit all the high notes and the resonance in her voice left me with chills. "Sweet Surrender" had everyone out of their seats dancing! And we all remained on our feet for the last 3 or 4 songs of the show; which obviously ended in a standing ovation. My God I love this woman!!! She was humble, beautiful, funny, and all-round a great entertainer!!!! We had excellent seats! And my friend practically fainted! He was screaming so loud that at one point when he yelled "Sarah I LOVE YOU!!!!!" She actually acknowledged him and gave him the "rock on" symbol. (index and pinky finger held up) He nearly tore down the place. I was sooooo happy for him. Everyone in the area around us laughed at his enthusiasm yet cheered him on at the same time. He was out of breath and exhausted at the end. Poor guy! She did 2 more numbers for the encore. Then as almost half the audience left..she came back out and finished it off with a beautiful ballad and thanked everyone. I have a much higher respect and admiration for Sarah Maclachlan now; and will be buying the rest of her cds come payday; and every one she releases from here on out! Go see Sarah. Wether you get a free ticket or not. GO! p.s. opening act was a woman called Butterfly Boucher. I really like her. ¤¤¤ [This message was edited Tue Jul 13 1:43:50 2004 by Chico1]

Wow Chico, that sounds GREAT! I was starting to get bored with her music, but live shows tell a different story, so.... I'm glad you went and told us about it!
The set design sounds AWESOME!
