The last great Stevie Album was over 10 years ago, Jungle Fever.

How is it possible for Stevie not to create music?

I think its awesome that Prince has consistently put out music regardless to its marketability of them time.

But it seems like stevie wonder is dead. I mean he had his burst in the seventies and then just faded out.

Why?

WHat is his explanation?

It seems like you're holding Stevie to Prince's standard of constant output every year. That's not a standard everybody wants to uphold, and not something everybody can uphold. It's an individual thing. But how many recording artists that started in the early '60s are still constantly releasing new music 40 years later? After all Stevie has created over the years, you don't think he's worthy of some down time? One day Prince will slow down too.


The world still has Stevie's Mount Rushmore work.

Why take downtime? Whats the point? To fade out and die because you don't make anything anymore?

The musicians that have stood the test of time made music until they died

Bach, Beethoven, Mozart

I think its dissapointing for an artist of Stevie's Caliber to simply not release any more music.

I would love to hear more new Stevie Wonder music,but like others have pointed out,we can't really expect Stevie (or any other artist) to release as much music as Prince does.Very few artists are as prolific as Prince.I'm satisfied with what Stevie has already given us,and he has given us alot (he's been making music since the 60s).If he wants to slow down,enjoy life and not work at such a frenetic pace,that's fine with me.


But in case you didn't know,he has a new CD 'A Time 2 Love' that's due at the end of this month

The music he released 1971-80 is enough 2 make
him a legend.He will 4-ever B an inspiration & that music
will 4-ever live on.
I'm gonna see Stevie live in Stockholm next week & I realize
it's a litle risktake.If it's gonna B good or bad.
I did'nt like his last livealbum from '95,"Natural Wonder",
I hope this is gonna B better.

Let's recall though that this new release has been postponed about 437 times over the past three years (last time a few weeks ago: it was supposed to be released in the beginning of june), so let's hope he'll stick to the new date this time....

I think they're still pushing for the July 28th date, but like a lot of the "ol' school" artists that have released albums, they aren't really promoting them (despite of them being really good albums). For example, Aretha's So Damn Happy (which won a Grammy this year), Patti's A Timeless Journey (which has received really good reviews) and so on. I guess Stevie just wants his fans to suffer and wait!
