hm, there are SEVERAL that I could list..
but the 1st 1 that comes to my mind today, right now is Lionel Richie's say you say me, a song from that movie White Nights (or something like that).. this song is typical of the AMAZING transformation that Richie went through in terms of his musical style - from beatiful, soulful ballads (he did with Commodores) like Sweet Love, Zoom, & the CLASSIC Just To Be Close To You, which features Richie's twangy, down-home sermon at the beginning.. to the syrupy, bland, predictable, too "radio friendly" "say you, say me say it together that's the way it should be say you, say me say it together.. naturally" AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! (the sound of me running down the hall to vomit violently in the toilet..) well, I suppose he got what he wanted, in the process of totally crossing over & selling himself out : millions of "number 1 records" & LOTS of money. "say you, say me"? NEVER say it again (at least, not in MY earshot!) I'll see you tonight..
