Michale Jackson and Eddie Murphy :"Whatzupwitu"! The end of an era......

Remember the song Eddie murphy did with Michale jackson in 1993 called "Whatzupwitu"? Remember the video with Ed and Mike in the sky with wierd birds and clouds gong around them? Like the song? It siginfies alot to me personally.....

I know alot of u rag bigtime on this song but listen up.....

I love both vid and song! The vid mainly 'cause it starred just the 2 biggest stars in the 80's (ed-movies king,MJ-music king) and 2 c them 2 on their own together having fun is cool 4 me as i'm a huge fan of both their work!

Also 'cause it signifies the end of their reign in their careers! After this vid and "Will u be there" that summer of 1993, MJ got his child molestation case that was of course the beginning of the sudden end 4 MJ (I know he was still sucsessful after 93 but feelings were never the same again 4 the public as prior to that.)

And Eddie 'cause after his average "Vampire in brooklyn" (93 or 94?) he started making family movies that were sometimes sucsessfull but still not the same as before (like MJ),both thier careers seemed different now, though luckily both still working and sometimes being sucsessfull.....

Still in the early part of 1993, these 2 were still at their peak and they still seemed on top of the world then.....glory days etc.....

Song itself has surprisenly deep lyrics written and sung by eddie like "Man ain't got the power to kill nothin' but himself, man is just creation-man is nothing else"! I love those lines...great positive song in general with as usual great adlibs by MJ. (the greatest adlibber ever is old MJ)

It was the end of an 80's era that had movies and music's biggest 2 stars, throghout the last decade-bowing out with this very goofy video that is actually very rememberable as it is never shown on the old channels still..... give it up 4 "Whatzupwitu"....

What ya think?

Thanx 4 that cool zany pic Lightofart! U understand what I mean though- after this duet, they, in the public eye, were not seen as the same unstoppable force they once both were-this rather looperly ends their reign with Mj 4 once just goofing around which u very rarely c in an MJ vid-wish they released it on a DVD compilation somewhere!

That song is crap and y'all know it!! Praise Michael for the good stuff he's done, but at least be objective enough to admit that "Whatzupwitu" is garbage.

Which is worse: this song, or "Party All The Time"? I say "Party All The Time"...it's horrendously sophomoric.

lol

"American Life" is a classic compared to "Whatzupwitu".Come to think of it,even the worse Madonna songs are better than anything by Eddie Murphy...lol...let's face it,music just ain't his thang.Except for maybe "Party All The Time",which is cheesy but still fun.

As a "musician", I think Eddie Murphy makes a great comedian!

Eddie never should have tried his hand at music. He sucks like a hoover.

Can't compare "Whatzupwitu" to "American life" can u? 2 me "American life" is crap but anyway-my main point is that this was the last time u saw these 2 giants at the height of their careers! This track symbolises the end of their reign.....but yes i do love both vid and song....song sounds like a weird late beatles song but more polished and uplifting in a weird way.vocals sound good too and MJ sounds great as usual! When first released song and vid was a real breath of fresh air and in fact still is.....

"Always in the mountains" Eddie murphy line
"Always in the trees" Michael jackson line..... Mj sounds good when saying that line!

Whole album (the 2nd half) is pretty decent actually-prefer "So happy" album he did in '89 though-both albums very different.....
