The thing that gave me mixed feelings is the COLE PORTER cover song, I heard her say that she's going to cover a jazz standard. On the other hand, the whole R.Kelly thing. I know that she worked with Blige, but where the hell is Angie Stone, Jill Scott, Raphael Saadiq & Wyclef Jean?

I don't know. The fact that this was featured on an AOL Members Hometown web page lends it all kinds of credibility. "Shattered Glass", anyone?

I took a good look at that page, and IT LOOKS FAKE , but the tracklist makes me curious. I also checked with the main Elektra/WEA website for Chaka info and got NO RESULTS! Who ever made that page with a 'new' Chaka CD used an AOL website builder, and it's not even professional boo! If this was a legit project, I'm sure the record company would want Chaka to have a good webpage. Oops, I'm registered in Chaka's official page now, so let me check her news section for an update!!

Who the fuck ever is running Chaka's 'official' site needs to start puttin' somethin' out there with regards to new or upcoming music. It's never too early to promote a new CD, and keeping a dark shroud over things won't help it sell. Her cheap ass sleepy managment company needs to start the 'buzz machine' to hype up her upcoming joint.

Hell, its a new "fashion" 4 us Chakaholics to open the TV and be supriced when we see her pre4ming in it(Like her recently cameo in Red & Meth's comedy show) without even knowing about it from the site.

Chaka is working on a new album and has already recorded several tracks. It is an album of covers, but nothing in that phoney bologna artwork is what's on the upcoming album as far as I know. There's an article/interview with her at Fab Magazine where several issues are discussed:

I Feel For You - “I chose to do ‘I Feel for You.’ I loved it when I finished it but when [producer] Arif [Marden] added that rap, I was devastated. [Mellie Mel] is rapping, ‘Let me rock you Chaka Khan’ and to this day, it is not my favourite song on my set list,” she insists. “The rap did enlighten my work to a whole new generation of people, though. I do have to admit that.”


Warner Bros - “My last album (Come 2 My House, from her self-owned Earth Song label) made more money for me than all the albums I made for Warner Music put together. Isn’t that sad? They are thieves and pimps of the highest order.”

Several years ago,Chaka said that she would eventually record a rock album,a jazz album,and a pop/R&B album.Perhaps this is one of those albums,collecting dust in the vaults? Or a bootleg containing various outtakes and demos? Who knows? But I really,really want some new music from her!
