Such a sexy song... "There comes a road in every man's journey that he's afraid to walk on his own.
I'm here to tell you, I'm at that road. And I would rather walk it with you than walk it alone".

I must say this is her weakest single on the album, and is very flat. She shudda releaed "Signs". I mean the beat sounds almost the same as "Lets Get Down" by Bow Wow. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Yep, it's the same beat as Bow Wow's song. I never hear that being mentioned.

Agreed. "That's How I Like It" is better than "Naughty Girl". "Naughty Girl" is worse than "Baby Boy" in the lyric department, mainly because...hmmm, it has all of four lyrics and all of that nauseating moaning that makes me want to punch her. Sorry, Beyonce, but Donna Summers did it years ago and she did it waaay better. I was hoping that she would have released "Speechless", which is a whole lot better than this...."song". It's sexier and would have made for a better video. I like "Me, Myself, and I" the most out of the songs she chose to release. The lyrics to "Naughty Girl" are weak and repetitive. The video was aight, nothing new or spectacular, but that's Beyonce for ya. CokeJohnson said: (haters need not reply)
Man, a person has a difference of opinion on one song (one of the weakest ones on the album, might I add) and they get labeled a hater? Uhh, yeah, Okay? [This message was edited Tue Jul 6 10:00:25 2004 by estelle1981] SPREAD LOVE UNTIL THE SUN'S FINAL RISE--The Duality a.k.a. "WYNTER SKYE"

I don't like her solo work. All the songs sounds the same. But she rocked in D's Child. She could have been a lot better imo, she's got the talent she has written Survivor which is a perfect song. did you watch the video for naught girl?, some scenes(when she is behind the curtains and wears a fedora) looks like Michael's live show for Billie Jean something like that: looked kool in her video as well tho.

I nave no idea about whether she is or isn't emulating Michael Jackson (he lifted stuff from other places too, you know, but it's all good). However, I liked some of Beyonce's album - of course the best songs rely on 70's samples (Crazy In Love), and the worst are hugely successful pieces of crap no one will remember a decade from now (Baby Boy). But isn't that typical today? I really don't know why she got all this praise heaped upon both her and the project, because it isn't different from the modern prototype R&B album. What I really can't stand is moronic kids bopping to her songs and believing she's a real musician and/or original, that the hooks and arrangements are completely new. Because she isn't a real musician, and her music isn't original. In fact, she isn't even really a top-notch singer, as we have been led to believe. Prince himself said Beyonce had no idea whatsoever about the structure of music - he sat down and showed her a few scales on the piano when they were rehearsing for the Grammys. At most, she wrote some of the lyrics to "Surivor" and that's it (she is not the only credited writer) - let's not kid ourselves, she isn't the second coming of anyone.

But it would be silly to say she is completely untalented. not atleast when the likes of britney/justin r around

I think she's a good songwriter (not a great one, but she's got potential). She's definitely good, in my opinion, of writing hooks and catchy lyrics, but nothing groundbreaking by any means. What baffles me is that she was the first African-American woman to win the ASCAP songwriting award. That is beyond comprehension. Valerie Simpson didn't win it. Donna Summer didn't win it. Angela Winbush didn't win it. It's clear that she's a critical darling, and she's got room to grow. I think her voice is good, but I wish she'd sing through her nose less. It seems to plague a lot of young singers. There's long been talk of a Dreamgirls revival, and she's supposedly being courted to play the lead. Even though I'm only a casual fan of hers, she'd be ideal for this! [This message was edited Tue Jul 6 12:51:58 2004 by RipHer2Shreds]
