Prince, Tori Amos, Ani Difranco Lovers

Is there anyone out there who is a fan of Prince, Tori Amos and Ani Difranco. In my opinion these three are truly amazing musicians, with some of the best lyrics I have ever heard!

Tori Amos is the bomb. Prince should have recorded a track with her a long time ago. Even though "Strange Little Girls" was kinda shitty, every album prior to that was off the hook. She should probably produce his next album.

Not much into Tori, and since I'm here I guess I'm a Prince fan. Ani DiFranco, however, is damn brilliant.

Well, I hope I'm an Ani fan. I being dragged to her Milwaukee show this week. I don't know much, but I've certainly liked quite a bit of what I've heard (I think). I'm just a little concerned about getting lynched as a young male at the show. wink

Unfortunately, Tori just doesn't do it for me. I think she has a weak voice and I can't get into her songs. I'm not denying her songwriting ability, I just have trouble paying enough attention to music if I don't like how it sounds. I'm sure I'll get over her voice eventually -- hell I got over Dylan's voice, I can adjust to anyone!

ani rocks!!!!ok, i'm from buffalo, so i'm a bit partial, but she really does rock. it's no secret prince shares some of these same sentiments. i have 2 agree w/ cygnus on tori though, i have nothing against her, she just doesn't do it 4 me personally. i did see her live though and was impressed, but again, just not my thing. i just saw prince last nite in buffalo and i will b here when ani takes the same stage next month! i've seen her too many times 2 count in the same setting that prince held his after show last night, how ironic the way things work out! i got tongue tied at the sound check and completely 4 got 2 ask p specifically about ani, she's converting a huge historic church building into a recording studio/theatre here in buffalo and would love 4 prince to come visit and just jam sometime.....

I don't think Ani's crowd is anti-male at all.

I'll be back with some suggestions for DiFranco albums(cd's) for anyone who's interested. Don't sleep on this woman.

Right Here.

Haven't got that many Ani cd's yet since I've only discovered her when Prince started talking about her.

But I've been in2 Tori right from the start. She's really prolific. I think she's one of the few artists that can match Prince with the amount of b-sides she's put out since her first album.

I'm sorry to have suggested that Ani's crowd might be anti-male, it's just that the first person I knew who wasa into ani really was anti-male. I guess it tainted me. The closer the show gets, the more excited I'm getting. I've found that people with rabid fans usually rock pretty hard. I'll be sure to let y'all know how it goes!
