Because she isn't a real musician, and her music isn't original. In fact, she isn't even really a top-notch singer, as we have been led to believe. Prince himself said Beyonce had no idea whatsoever about the structure of music - he sat down and showed her a few scales on the piano when they were rehearsing for the Grammys. At most, she wrote some of the lyrics to "Surivor" and that's it (she is not the only credited writer) - let's not kid ourselves, she isn't the second coming of anyone. I like Beyonce. I think she's a good songwriter (not a great one, but she's got potential). She's definitely good, in my opinion, of writing hooks and catchy lyrics, but nothing groundbreaking by any means. What baffles me is that she was the first African-American woman to win the ASCAP songwriting award. That is beyond comprehension. Valerie Simpson didn't win it. Donna Summer didn't win it. Angela Winbush didn't win it. It's clear that she's a critical darling, and she's got room to grow. I think her voice is good, but I wish she'd sing through her nose less. It seems to plague a lot of young singers. There's long been talk of a Dreamgirls revival, and she's supposedly being courted to play the lead. Even though I'm only a casual fan of hers, she'd be ideal for this! It's not what I said you quoted. It's what voicescarry said.

I like Beyonce and I have a burned copy of her cd and I think Naughty Girl is the weakest song on the cd. She definitely looks sexy in the video, that's for sure.

Nobody's hating on Bee. She's good and I love DC's rendition of "Emotions", but, Beyonce is a media darling right now. Her album didn't deserve those 5 Grammy's....two maybe, but definitely not five. Now, Christina Aguilera's album should have gotten at least three. "Stripped" was waay more innovative and diverse than "Crazy In Love". Bee's album is typical R & B and very hip-hop influenced, just like Mariah's past three albums were. She's a pretty girl. I heard that her mother was Creole, which explains why she looks the way she does. Most Creole girls have a similar look to Beyonce. Her and Christina Aguilera are the only ones out now who have some potential....moreso Christina, because her album incorporated more diverse musical styles than what's popular and expected. Bee's good though. SPREAD LOVE UNTIL THE SUN'S FINAL RISE--The Duality a.k.a. "WYNTER SKYE"

Why? because we like OTHER songs on the album? Naughty Girl is not the best single man. Signs was a hit on our urban radio ..but Naughty Girl got released, i was upset, but not surprised. I bet she didnt like it that much either. Lots of artists dont have control over what singles they want 2 pick. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.
