Jazz/Funk/rock?: Favorite Level 42 Tracks  I was gettin' around to this sooner or later: 
Level 42 was somewhere in the middle of Jazz/Funk/Rock/progressive Pop (which is where thangs should be!!) - their sound was a little too neat for some folks , but they were always one of my favorite bands. Led by dynamic bassist Mark King and Keyboardist Mike Lindup along with producer keyboardist Wally Badarou (Grace Jones, M, Talking Heads, also known for the club hit "Chief Inspector"), their band inluded the kinetic Gould brothers ,Phil on drums , Boon on guitar and later, a revolving door of musicians that included Allan Holdsworth, Gary Husband, Alan Murphy,Gary Barnacle,and others...(Their third album, Standing in the Light, was produced by EWF's Verdine White and Larry Dunn) My favorite tracks: World Machine Lying Still The Pursuit Of Accidents Children Say Good Man In a Storm Kansas City Milkman Seven Days A Kinder Eye A Little Love The Machine Stops Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind Man I Want Eyes Starchild Kouyate Love Games Leaving Me Now It's Over Two Solitudes I Sleep on my Heart If You Were Mine Sunbed Song Oddly enough, one of their tunes I wasn't crazy about was their best known song, "Something about You" ...don't know why that one doesn't grab me... OK, now my faovrite tunes from my favorite Jazz/Funk/New Wave band (off the top of my head): Starchild Turn it on Almost There The Chinese Way Last Chance Are You hearing What I Hear? Eyes Waterfalling (I've been trying to master the bass line to that forever  )
The Sun Goes Down Micro Kid Standing In The Light Hot Water Seven Days The Chant Has Begun Something About You World Machine Leaving Me Now A Physical Presence The whole Running In The Family album, basically.

I am going to give the the very predictable (but still justifiable) answer
Something About You but there's another L42 track - I believe it was them - that I used to hear at a local rollerskating rink YEARS ago.. something about a dead man or a bird man.. a lyric about "give me the chance to speak my mind.. don't you know that after all, all I really wanted [?] is you.." or something like that.. if anyone knows that this is a L42 song, I would like to get the name of this track. I'll see you tonight..

My favorites by far are:
Love In A Peaceful World(the last minute or so of this joint makes me grab my bass everytime I hear it!)
